Assistant Manager, Hospitality & Environmental Services (Public Healthcare, Central)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced operations professional to oversee a portfolio of outsourced hospitality and support services within a complex institutional environment.

The portfolio may include housekeeping, waste management, pest control, landscaping, linen & laundry, and portering services. You will be responsible for ensuring appointed service providers consistently meet contractual KPIs, service standards, regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.

This role would suit someone with strong vendor and contract management experience who is confident handling service issues, managing multiple stakeholders and driving operational improvements.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of hospitality and soft facilities management services, including housekeeping, waste management, pest control, landscaping, linen & laundry and portering.
• Monitor vendor performance against contractual KPIs, SLAs, service standards and operational requirements.
• Conduct regular service reviews and follow up on performance gaps, complaints and corrective actions.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and service providers to resolve operational issues and service-recovery matters.
• Ensure outsourced services comply with organisational policies, statutory requirements, audit standards and workplace safety requirements.
• Review service quality and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, user experience and operational effectiveness.
• Manage contract governance, performance documentation, reports and records to maintain accountability and audit readiness.
• Support contract renewal, procurement, budgeting and financial management activities to optimise service quality and value for money.
• Analyse service trends and vendor performance data and present findings or recommendations to stakeholders and management.
• Lead or participate in operational improvement, service transformation and resilience projects.
• Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, operational teams, contractors and end users.
• Support team development through coaching, engagement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Min. Degree in Facilities Management, Hospitality, Business, Contract Management, Horticulture or any relevant discipline.
• Relevant experience in contract, vendor, hospitality, facilities or service management.
• Experience managing outsourced services such as housekeeping, cleaning, waste, landscaping, pest control, laundry, portering or related portfolios is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of vendor-performance management, KPIs and SLAs.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance requirements, service reviews and operational improvement initiatives.
• Exposure to procurement, tendering, budgeting or contract administration would be advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated project-management and leadership capabilities.
• Proactive, resourceful and able to manage multiple operational priorities independently.
