Position Summary

The Teaching Assistant will work with the faculty and students performing teaching or teaching-related duties that includes:

  • Supporting students during laboratory / workshop activities and homework assignments
  • Developing teaching materials
  • Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups
  • Supporting delivery of online lessons and development of materials for the CANVAS virtual learning platform
  • Prepare materials and equipment for laboratory and studio sessions

Key Accountabilities

Prepare teaching materials and organise workshop spaces in preparation for classes

  • Support in developing in-class activities & delivery
  • Support students in understanding their class assignments and assessments
  • Assist with workshop sessions and supervise open access in workshops and labs
  • Provide more detail on material covered in-class to support students understanding

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline, preferably Master's Degree.
  • Multidisciplinary Design Practice: Proven ability to engage with digital design across a broad range of disciplines, (animation, imaging, interaction, and sound).
  • Specialised Expertise: demonstrated proficiency in two or more key areas of digital design (animation, imaging, interaction, or sound), including software skills relevant to each domain.
  • Ability to explain a complex problem in terms that are easy to understand and comprehend.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 7.0 (academic, with no skill less than 6.5) (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.

WORK PERMIT

As an expatriate candidate, you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years related experience.
