In this role, you will be instrumental in the Chassis Module, using your extensive skills to process and analyze large volumes of data. You will collaborate with diverse teams, including Engineering, Quality Control and VINFAST suppliers, to create cutting-edge solutions that will drive the future of transportation.
- Lead end-to-end development of steering systems (EPS, steering gear, steering column, intermediate shaft, steering wheel interface) across one or more vehicle programs (BEV/REEV).
- Define the steering system from concept definition, architecture selection, detailed design, virtual/physical validation, performance targets, technical specifications compliance, and industrialization.
- Own steering system integration with chassis, suspension, braking, vehicle controls, and other vehicle modules interfaces.
- Lead concept selection, detailed design, and system optimization to meet Vehicle Dynamics, Steering Feel, NVH, Durability, and Safety performance requirements.
- Review and approve design outputs including drawings, CAD models, SOR, SPB, DFMEA, DV/PV plans, and technical reports.
- Support CAE activities such as steering system simulation, steering feel analysis, durability analysis, and structural validation.
- Knowledge in problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, Pareto).
- Lead steering system suppliers (Tier 1 / Tier 2) on design, validation, cost, weight, and quality topics.
- Drive commonality, localization, cost reduction, and VAVE activities without compromising safety or steering performance.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including vehicle dynamics, chassis integration, electrical/electronics, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- Related Degree in Engineering field
- 8+ years of experience in automotive steering system development.
- Strong knowledge of brake system architecture, design, validation, and industrialization.
- Proven experience in brake system integration with chassis, suspension, steering, and vehicle control systems.
- Good understanding of Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Corrosion, and Thermal requirements.
- Experience in reviewing and approving technical deliverables (CAD, drawings, DFMEA, DV/PV, reports).
- Familiar with software diagnostics (DTC, logs, trace data) is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
- Experience supporting vehicle launch, SOP, and post-SOP activities.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
