Software Engineer

Bradford Jacobs is assisting an AI drone solutions company, offering cutting-edge aerial solutions across a range of sectors, including construction, agriculture, real estate, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure inspection. Their mission is to harness drone technology to deliver high-quality data, insights, and visual content to enable clients to make informed decisions.

About the role

We are seeking Software Engineers to build the applications, cloud backend, and tooling that power their products. You will work on web and/or mobile applications, cloud APIs, and data pipelines that interface with our connected hardware devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python, Node.js, or Go
• Build web or mobile front-end features using React, React Native, or Flutter
• Integrate cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) for device connectivity, telemetry, and user data
• Develop MQTT/WebSocket-based communication layers for IoT device management
• Write automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) and maintain high code quality standards
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
• Collaborate with embedded and electronics teams on firmware-to-cloud data flows
• Monitor production systems and respond to incidents in a timely manner

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
• Experience building and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Solid understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Google Cloud IoT, or Azure IoT Hub)
• Mobile development experience (React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android)
• Knowledge of time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB)
• Experience with Kubernetes or cloud-native architecture
• Contributions to open-source projects

This is an on-site position paying up to VND65,000,000 per month.
