Job Description

Job Summary

At Huynchi, we believe great workplaces begin with understanding people.

A workplace should support how people work, connect, collaborate, and experience the organization they are part of. It should reflect the company's identity, respond to operational realities, and continue to create value long after the project is completed.

We are looking for a Senior Workplace Designer who can turn business needs, human insights, and project constraints into thoughtful and meaningful workplace solutions.

This is a hands-on design role for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of projects, developing ideas from early concept through delivery, presenting confidently to clients, and working closely with an integrated Design & Build team.

We value designers who are curious, thoughtful, and willing to question the obvious answer in search of a better one.

Key Responsibilities

Understand Before Designing

  • Learn about the client's business, people, culture, brand, ways of working, and project objectives.
  • Ask the right questions to uncover needs that may not be immediately visible in the brief.
  • Translate client requirements and user insights into clear workplace design opportunities.
  • Participate in client workshops, brief development, site studies, and project discovery when required.

Develop Meaningful Workplace Solutions

  • Develop workplace concepts, spatial strategies, layouts, design narratives, materials, and presentation content.
  • Create environments that support employee experience, collaboration, wellbeing, productivity, and organizational culture.
  • Balance aesthetics with functionality, flexibility, operational performance, budget, and long-term value.
  • Think about the workplace as a complete experience rather than a collection of individual spaces.

Take Ownership From Concept To Delivery

  • Take responsibility for design quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop concepts into coordinated and buildable design solutions.
  • Work closely with technical designers to ensure design intent is properly translated into documentation.
  • Review materials, finishes, details, samples, mock-ups, and other design elements as projects progress.
  • Stay involved during construction to help resolve design issues and maintain the integrity of the final result.ing feedback and making necessary adjustments.

Work Closely With Clients

  • Present design ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Help clients understand the reasoning behind design decisions.
  • Listen carefully to feedback and distinguish between preferences, business needs, and genuine project constraints.
  • Build trust through clear communication, preparation, and professional judgment.

Collaborate across Design & Build

You will work closely with Business Development, Project Management, Technical Design, QS, Procurement, MEPF, and Site Teams.

Design decisions at Huynchi are not made in isolation. We expect our designers to understand how design, cost, technical requirements, construction, and client objectives influence one another.

You should be comfortable working through these realities while protecting what matters most in the design.

Contribute to the design team

  • Share knowledge, references, ideas, and lessons learned from projects.
  • Provide constructive input to other designers when needed.
  • Participate actively in design reviews and team discussions.
  • Help strengthen Huynchi's collective workplace knowledge and design quality.

Design, technology and AI

At Huynchi, we believe the future of design belongs to professionals who can combine creativity, human understanding, technical judgment, and technology.

We do not define a strong designer by mastery of a fixed list of software.

We are more interested in your ability to use the right tools to explore ideas, solve problems, communicate clearly, and deliver better work.

We encourage our designers to experiment with AI and emerging technologies across research, ideation, visualization, communication, documentation, coordination, and other parts of the design process.

AI should not replace design thinking.

It should give designers more time and capability to think, explore, question, and create.

We value people who are curious about new tools, willing to learn, and thoughtful enough to know when technology improves the work and when human judgment matters more.

Qualifications

You may be a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in workplace, office, or commercial interior design.
  • Experience taking significant responsibility for projects from concept through delivery.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates clear thinking, strong design judgment, and the ability to solve real project challenges.
  • A good understanding of space planning, materials, detailing, and the realities of interior construction.
  • Experience working with professional design and digital tools for concept development, visualization, documentation, and coordination.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Confidence working directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • The ability to manage priorities and maintain design quality in a fast-moving Design & Build environment.
  • Curiosity about workplace design, human experience, AI, and emerging ways of working.

What matters to us

We are not looking for one particular design style.

We are looking for designers who can understand what is distinctive about each client and create a workplace that feels relevant to their people, culture, brand, and business.

We Value People Who

  • Listen before proposing.
  • Ask thoughtful questions.
  • Care about how spaces actually work after handover.
  • Can move comfortably between concept and detail.
  • Understand that great ideas still need to be buildable.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of their work.
  • Remain curious and continue learning.
  • Are generous with knowledge and collaborative with others.

A strong portfolio matters, but we are equally interested in how you think and why you made the decisions behind the work.

Why Huynchi

As a Senior Workplace Designer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work on meaningful workplace projects for multinational companies and leading enterprises.
  • Take significant ownership of projects rather than working on isolated design tasks.
  • Stay involved from early client conversations through construction and completion.
  • Work closely with an integrated Design & Build team.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of how design decisions connect with cost, construction, operations, and business needs.
  • Experiment with AI and new technologies as part of the design process.
  • Learn from challenging projects and contribute your own experience to the wider team.
  • Play an active role in developing Huynchi's workplace design point of view.

Benefits

  • Professional and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities to work on challenging workplace and commercial projects.
  • Exposure to multinational and enterprise clients.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.

  • Competitive salary and benefits based on experience and capability.
  • Performance recognition based on contribution and project outcomes.

If this sounds like the kind of work you want to do, we would like to hear from you.

Your portfolio does not need to show only finished photographs.

We would also like to understand your thinking: the problem you were solving, your role in the project, the decisions you made, the constraints you worked through, and how the final design responded to the people and organization it was created for.
