Job Description
The Production Planning Team Lead is responsible for leading production planning, inventory control, and warehouse operations to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient material flow across manufacturing operations. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to balance customer demand, production capacity, and inventory targets while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Lead production planning and scheduling activities to ensure customer demand and delivery commitments are met.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to optimize production capacity and material availability.
- Monitor production performance, delivery trends, and planning accuracy; identify risks and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Drive effective use of ERP systems to support planning and inventory management processes.
Inventory Control & Material Management
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to improve inventory turns, reduce excess inventory, and minimize material shortages.
- Monitor inventory performance, demand fluctuations, and material requirements to support business objectives.
- Lead initiatives to achieve inventory reduction and cost optimization targets.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee warehouse operations to ensure inventory accuracy, stock traceability, FIFO compliance, and efficient space utilization.
- Ensure alignment between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain warehouse processes and documentation in compliance with company and ISO requirements.
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop the Planning and Warehouse teams to achieve operational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning efficiency, inventory optimization, cost reduction, and process standardization.
- Support performance management, employee development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, PPIC, or Inventory Control within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience in Semiconductor, Electronics Manufacturing, or high-tech manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Glovia is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes.
- Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
- Good command of English and Vietnamese.
