About the Role:

Sunbytes is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work with our client, who is a leading company that delivers solutions for the floating offshore oil and gas industry. This job is based at the client office in Ho Chi Minh City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Work with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Data, etc.) to turn requirements into technical tasks.

• Help design scalable, secure, and maintainable software architecture.

• Write clean, reliable code using best practices.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.

• Assist in diagnosing and resolving production issues.

• Proactively identify potential risks or dependencies related to requirements and propose solutions.

• Communicate architectural decisions and technical trade-offs clearly.

Job Requirements

Technical skills:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong academic credentials in Comp Science/IT from top universities in Vietnam, or equivalent from foreign universities.

Frontend

• Strong hands-on experience with React.js.

• Build and implement UI components aligned with the in-house Design System.

• Approach UI/UX challenges with creativity and an open mindset.

Backend

• Proficiency in Python/Django and relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

• Candidates with other primary programming languages are also welcome to apply.

• Bonus: Exposure to Data Engineering or AI/ML.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of DevOps and Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS).

• Experience mentoring team members and coordinating development tasks.

• Prior start-up experience.

• Familiarity with the Oil & Gas industry.

Soft skills:

• Comfortable working in agile environments.

• Good written and verbal communication in English

• Willingness to challenge the status quo and explore innovative solutions

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work across diverse teams

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
