Job Description

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Java Spring Boot, NodeJS, and AWS to join our platform team at Obello. You’ll play a critical role in designing and implementing high-performance backend services for media conversion, processing, and design export. You will help ensure that Obello&aposs core infrastructure is robust, scalable, and optimized for seamless creative content delivery.

Responsibilities

● Collaborate with internal teams to produce software architecture design, front-end components

● Contribute to code reviews both as reviewer and reviewee

● Ability and flexibility to adapt with the change request to understand requirements and plan a solution

● Test and deploy applications and systems

● Revise, update, refactor and debug code

● Develop and amending code as documented in the design and ensure it meets the specification, follows standards, is performant and is maintainable

● Collaborate closely with frontend, AI, and product teams to support smart design exports and animated content delivery

● Own system reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency of backend infrastructure

● Ensure security, error resilience, and performance monitoring in cloud-based production environments

Your Skills and Experience

● 5+ years of backend development experience in Java (Spring Boot) and NodeJS

● Proven experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, MediaConvert, SQS, etc

● Deep understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems

● Strong knowledge of API design, asynchronous processing, and RESTful best practices

Bonus Skills

● Hands-on experience in building graphic or media-focused SaaS platforms

● Experience working with media processing tools such as FFmpeg, canvas-node, and video transcoding services is plus

● Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and Docker/Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications

● 6+ years of professional experience in backend SaaS Platform development.

● Previous experience working in a SaaS Platform product at scale

● Experience with video processing will be considered a strong competitive advantage.
