JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer will lead and support product qualification processes, ensure stable manufacturing under consistent testing data to conform to product specifications, maintain routine operations for incoming quality control, improve supplier quality performance, qualify products and assembly lines for customer, regulatory, safety, and international standards, and assist in troubleshooting, audits, and continuous improvement across new product development, pilot runs, mass production, and supplier interactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee new product qualification testing per test plans, collecting and reviewing performance/reliability data during engineering builds and pilot runs.
- Identify and resolve potential quality issues (electronics, mechanical, assembly) with teams and on production lines, providing troubleshooting support and training.
- Develop and implement IPQC, OQC, and pre-shipment standards, including sampling plans, checkpoint flow lines (functional, appearance, safety checks), and test JIGs.
- Maintain product files, quality records, and ensure all documents (work instructions, BOM compliance) are ready; prepare PPAP packages and quality trackers for NPI builds.
- Analyze non-conformance issues during IPQC/OQC inspections, ensuring technician compliance via data analysis.
- Set up lab equipment (e.g., power supply, E-load, data logger) and review first article inspections of critical components.
- Support IQC operations: set goals, train/monitor technicians, conduct incoming inspections/audits, and prepare for ISO/customer audits.
- Hold production release meetings, daily IQC huddles, and address customer complaints with teams.
- Collaborate with suppliers to audit/qualify partners and improve quality through regular meetings and corrective actions.
- Collect production line data for QE purposes and follow up on new product builds and mass production reliability tests.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 3 years in quality control.
Knowledge:
- 7 QC Tools, 5 Core Tools.
- ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949:2016.
- Problem-solving skills (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto).
- Skills:
- Auditing skills.
- Proficient in Minitab.
- Familiar with ASTM, GB, or JIS standards.
- Data analysis.
- Fluent in English.
- Other Abilities: Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, strong teamwork skills.
