Job Description

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Job Title: (Senior) Process &ProductionEngineer (Rubber Manufacturing)

2. Report to: Manufacturing Manager

3. Working Location: Trelleborg Vietnam Factory - Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Ba Ria & Vung Tau Province, Vietnam (Shuttle bus will be provided from 3 locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, and Vung Tau City).

II. SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Design, devising efficient means to produce parts or products, supporting safety, quality and confering with management to stay on budget and meet production deadlines. Key responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Production know how: systematically focus on the Manufacturing process with Product structure design / Standardization of SOP / Process control & traceability / Operator training.
  • Techical support: coordinate with the Mechanical engineer, actively taking responsibility of Technical specification & support with Raw material / Process exception / Final Inspection / Independent problem solving / Technical transfer project, etc;
  • Continous improvement: improvement with Safety /Quality / Efficiency / Capacity ramping up / Cost down / value stream / Lean manufacturing from the process side

III. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deep dive and understand product requirements: the product structure, equipment-related, materials, and estimation of potential risks.
  • Documenting current production procedures and creating company standards to improve the efficiency of the Production Department.
  • Verify whether workers operate according to SOP, equipment capabilities meet SOP, and the effectiveness of process training.
  • BOM & Routine tracking, to identify any differences and adjust in time to ensure that each process route meets expectations, including equipment, personnel, and materials. Analyze new order requirements and provide the best quotation (BOM & Routine).
  • Daily process maintenance to confirm the stability of the process and product quality. Identify and implement continuous improvements to the Company's production processes.
  • Solve quality problems in the production process and final inspection. Technical support for internal and external teams, especially for the sales team. Assist in the evaluation of returned materials/products.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to identify and implement ongoing quality improvements.
  • Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production best practices, tools, and techniques, and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner.
  • Develop and implement production processes for new products, product enhancements, and product changes. Install related fixtures and tooling, as required.
  • Develop and implement enhanced production testing of products
  • Minimize overall production costs while maximizing productivity.
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and present production and process data, information, and trends to management.
  • Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Lead, train, and develop the Production team.
  • Develop daily and weekly production schedule(s) and follow up
  • Maintain discipline and build good team spirit within the department
  • Feedback to other departments such as Quality, Engineering, Technical, and Sales & Marketing if any issues.
  • Collection of production data, verifying, ,fine-tuning and entering the ERP
  • Maintain accurate production records for traceability
  • Attend regular meetings and follow up on actions required (toolbox, Production, project)
  • Submission of weekly and monthly reports.
  • Other ad-hoc report/project assigned by the Rubber Manufacturing Manager.

IV. ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor's degree in the major of chemical/ polymer engineering;
  • Manufacturing Excellence/Lean Six Sigma practices are preferred;
  • From 5 years or more of experience with a good background in Chemical/Polymer industrial manufacturing.
  • Good communication in English.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Initiative, diligent, and responsible
  • Able to delegate work appropriately
  • The ability to resolve problems in an efficient manner.
  • Resourceful and self-driven with a strong sense of commitment and urgency to meet set goals, objectives, and deadlines
