Job Purpose
Provide strategic leadership and expert-level talent acquisition counsel to multiple business functions and departments. Drive talent acquisition strategy aligned with business objectives and enterprise goals. Lead a team of talent acquisition professionals while partnering with senior leaders and HR Business Partners to deliver innovative, scalable talent acquisition solutions that support organizational growth and embed talent strategy across Sun Life Vietnam.
Major Accountabilities
1. Strategic Talent Acquisition Leadership (40%)
- Develop and execute comprehensive talent acquisition strategies aligned with business group strategy and organizational objectives
- Partner with HR Business Partners, people leaders and executive management to understand multi-year headcount planning and talent needs across assigned business functions or enterprise-wide talent acquisition initiatives
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior business leaders and stakeholders to identify strategic talent acquisition challenges and opportunities
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for all employee categories (permanent, contractor, contingency workers) across assigned functions, ensuring quality placements within service level agreements
- Oversee internal mobility and succession planning initiatives to support career development and retain key talent
- Develop competitive total reward packages (compensation, benefits, wellness) aligned with market benchmarks and internal equity principles
- Build and expand talent pipelines across assigned disciplines to support rapid business growth and emerging talent needs
- Monitor talent market trends and competitive intelligence within assigned areas; escalate significant findings and recommendations to HR leadership
- Develop and recommend improvements to talent acquisition processes, tools and practices to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
- Oversee background check operations and recommend process enhancements
2. Team Leadership and Development (25%) (1-2 members)
- Lead and develop a team of talent acquisition professionals (managers and/or individual contributors)
- Provide strategic direction, coaching and performance management to team members
- Establish clear performance metrics and accountability for team results
- Support professional development of team members through training, mentoring and stretch assignments
- Conduct performance reviews and manage performance discussions
- Participate in or own hiring and performance management decisions for team
3. Relationship Management and Strategic Support (20%)
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and senior business leaders on:
- Employee relations and new hire onboarding programs to create positive, ethical and productive work environments
- Personnel budget management and strategic workforce planning
- Stakeholder engagement, internal mobility planning and succession strategy
- Talent pipeline development through external community engagement and passive candidate networks
- Employer branding initiatives and talent attraction programs
- Identify and discuss rehire opportunities to reduce regrettable turnover
- Manage relationships with external service providers and recruitment vendors
- Provide input to regulatory bodies and external stakeholders as appropriate
4. HR Practices & Strategic Initiatives (15%)
- Champion consistent application of HR policies and talent acquisition best practices across assigned functions
- Contribute to development of HR policies, procedures and practices that guide talent acquisition and people management
- Lead functional and cross-functional HR initiatives and projects
- Participate in strategy development for talent management, employer branding and talent attraction
- Provide recommendations to HR leadership on process improvements and service enhancements
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory developments and best practices in talent acquisition
- Stay current with employee experience trends and anticipate organizational needs

Relevant Education and Experience
Education (Minimum)
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR or related discipline
Education (Desirable)
- Professional HR management qualification or advanced certification
- Advanced degree in related field
Experience (Minimum)
- At least 8-10 years in talent acquisition, talent management, HR or related functions within complex organizational environments (fast-growing, transformational, diverse roles and cultures), OR
- At least 6-8 years of proven talent acquisition experience in leadership capacity within complex organizations, with demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive strategic initiatives
- Previous management or team leadership experience
