At gbc engineers, we're expanding our Engineering Department in Ho Chi Minh City and we're looking for Civil Engineer to join our international team of experts from Germany and Vietnam.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of civil and urban infrastructure projects, including building access, drainage networks, sewer systems, water supply systems, earthworks, and electrical utilities.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations: hydraulic (capacity, velocity, pipe sizing, culvert capacity), hydrological (runoff estimation, peak flow), earthworks (cut & fill volumes), road design, and sewer design.
- Review and validate all technical calculations produced by the team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with standards.
- Design and analyse stormwater drainage systems using manual calculations and hydraulic modelling tools (SWMM, Mike Urban, etc.).
- Design sanitary sewer systems, ensuring accurate pipe sizing, gradients, flow capacity, and invert levels.
- Prepare calculation reports and technical justifications to support design decisions and authority submissions.
- Ensure designs are optimized through value engineering and cost-effective approaches.
- Oversee technical design outputs and ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and international standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, particularly in engineering calculations and design methodologies.
- Support tendering processes, estimate manpower, and assess scope of work in technical proposals.
- Follow up on construction activities and provide site support and technical solutions as required.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure quality control.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in civil/urban infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in roads, drainage, utilities, and urban development projects.
- Solid understanding of international standards, codes, and construction practices (Eurocodes is a plus).
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Experience in project management and team leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
