JOB PURPOSE
The Retail Designer focuses on the 2D visual communication and adaptation of Key Visuals (KVs) into effective Point of Sale Materials (POSM) for one of Tag's key account. Operating within the In-Market Creative Studio, this role ensures that brand messaging is translated accurately and compellingly across various retail formats and touchpoints. The Retail Designer is responsible for creating print-ready artwork, mockups, and retail-focused content that aligns with account's premium brand standards. The role requires a keen eye for typography, layout, and color management to ensure flawless execution from screen to shelf.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Key Visual Adaptation & Artworking
Adapt master Key Visuals provided by account brand teams into a variety of POSM formats, ensuring brand consistency and visual impact across all retail touchpoints.
- Produce print-ready artwork for posters, shelf talkers, wobblers, danglers, header cards, showcase stickers, and other retail materials.
- Ensure all artwork is precisely scaled, color-matched (CMYK), and formatted according to the specific requirements of different retail channels and print vendors.
- Create rapid mockups and visual simulations for client approval during the briefing stage.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of brand assets, templates, and style guides for efficient adaptation workflows.
2. Retail-Focused Content Production
Understanding the dynamics of the First Moment of Truth (FMOT), create visual layouts that capture shopper attention and clearly communicate product benefits at the point of purchase.
- Design for consistency across both offline retail environments and online e-commerce platforms, ensuring a cohesive brand experience.
- Adapt creative content for multiple key account's categories (Haircare, Skincare, Oral Care) while maintaining each brand's unique visual identity.
- Produce ad-hoc design requests and quick-turnaround adaptations to support dynamic campaign needs.
3. Creative Quality Assurance
Conduct thorough quality checks on all final artwork files before they are released for production, ensuring zero-defect output.
- Verify bleed margins, resolution, color profiles, typography, and image placement to prevent printing errors.
- Ensure all text content, product claims, and regulatory information are accurately reflected in final artwork.
- Maintain strict adherence to brand guidelines and Tag's internal quality standards.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Account Team and 3D Designer to ensure seamless integration of 2D graphic elements with structural POSM designs.
- Collaborate with the production team and print vendors to ensure artwork files are optimized for various printing methods (offset, digital, large-format).
- Participate in creative briefing sessions and provide visual recommendations to enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Support the Account Team in preparing visual materials for client presentations and business reviews.
5. Design Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with retail design trends, typography innovations, and visual communication best practices.
- Contribute ideas for improving design workflows, template systems, and production efficiency.
- Participate in market visits to understand real-world retail environments and inform design decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in graphic design, artworking, or print production, preferably within an agency or retail marketing environment.
- Preferred Background: Candidates with experience in FMCG brand adaptation, retail POSM design, or trade marketing creative are strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Knowledge of pre-press workflows is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of print production processes, color management (CMYK, Pantone), paper stocks, and retail point-of-sale formats.
- Soft Skills: Keen eye for typography and layout, strong time management skills, and the ability to execute fast-paced design adaptations without compromising quality.
- Communication: English proficiency (written and verbal) for client-facing communications.
