What Will You Do

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Raw Materials Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing raw materials required for production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing raw materials to support production demands while minimizing inventory levels. Manage purchase orders, inventory, and supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.

  • Create, maintain, and issue Purchase Orders in AS400, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate daily with suppliers on order status, delivery schedules, and supply issues.
  • Share weekly forecasts and align purchasing plans with production demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels, preventing shortages and slow-moving or aged inventory.
  • Follow up material readiness for new programs to support timely production launch.
  • Conduct periodic supplier performance and pricing reviews.
  • Maintain basic technical understanding of assigned materials, testing requirements, and related production processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor / Department Head.

What You Need

1. Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Apics certification preferred.

2. Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or material planning, preferably in garment/furniture/upholstery manufacturing.

3. Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of raw materials used in furniture products (e.g. fabric, leather, foam, fiber, wood, hardware, packaging).
  • Basic understanding of upholstery manufacturing processes and material flow.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and material planning in a production environment.

4. Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong planning and coordination skills to support production schedules and material availability.
  • Data-oriented with strong attention to inventory accuracy and cost control.
  • Ability to work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost performance.
  • Continuous improvement mindset in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Ability to track, measure, and control KPIs related to purchasing and inventory.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good command of English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
