Job Description
- Act as the primary liaison with Japanese customers, ensuring clear communication of project requirements, schedules, and progress.
- Develop comprehensive project plans based on scope, requirements, and business objectives.
- Lead and monitor project teams to execute tasks in alignment with project plans and development standards.
- Track and manage project progress, cost, and quality to ensure successful outcomes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively.
- Facilitate stakeholder coordination and resolve team conflicts to maintain strong collaboration.
- Provide regular status reports and escalate critical issues or risks to management when necessary.
- Ensure all deliverables are released on time and meet customer-oriented quality standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in project management, preferably in software development.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with at least one project management methodology (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
- Solid expertise in project management areas such as scope, time, risk, and quality management.
- Proven skills in scheduling, progress tracking, and resource management.
- Excellent soft skills, including communication, reporting, documentation, and decision-making.
- Strong English communication skills (TOEIC 650+ or equivalent).
- Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N2 level up (N1 is prefered).
- Professional certifications such as PMP or PSM are a plus.
- Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Redmine) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project) is preferred.
- Additional skills in business analysis or quality assurance are advantageous.
Preferred Skills in Automotive Software Development:
- Experience managing projects in Automotive Embedded Systems (e.g., ECU, AUTOSAR-based, MHU development).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) compliance.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams in OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Exposure to software validation, integration, and testing processes specific to automotive environments.
- Ability to manage projects involving multi-site development teams across different countries.
