Job Description

The Program Director is the an Entrepreneur for this Social Enterprise and is responsible for the successful start-up, scaling, and sustainability of the campaign. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, mission-driven individual with strong leadership, management, and fundraising abilities.

The Program Director will oversee all aspects of program design, delivery, staffing, partnerships, and monitoring. They will be responsible for building and managing a lean but high-performing team, working closely with schools, partners, and funders. The role reports to the Board of Advisors and will play a critical role in shaping GTH's long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Translate GTH's mission into clear annual objectives, programs, and impact targets.
  • Lead operational planning, timelines, and program delivery across schools and communities.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for expansion within HCMC and other regions.
  • Represent GTH at key meetings, events, and with media or government stakeholders.

2. Team Building & Management

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard early team members (bare-bones to early-scaling team).
  • Direct and support staff, volunteers, and interns to deliver high-quality programming.
  • Build a positive, purpose-driven team culture with strong accountability.
  • Provide regular coaching and professional development.

3. Program Management & Delivery

  • Design and oversee the rollout of educational events, mascot activities, and community workshops.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of school programs, including scheduling, logistics, and feedback loops.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to report on impact and guide continuous improvement.

4. Partnership Development & Fundraising

  • Cultivate relationships with schools, local government, NGOs, universities, and CSR partners.
  • Will lead the development of grant proposals, sponsorship pitches, and donor reports.
  • Represent GTH in external stakeholder meetings and fundraising events.

5. Communications & Brand Oversight

  • Oversee messaging, public communications, and social media strategy (in collaboration with media staff or freelancers).
  • Ensure alignment with GTH branding and values in all public-facing content.
  • Support content creation by providing stories, data, and highlights from program activities.

6. Finance & Administration

  • Develop and manage program budgets and basic financial oversight.
  • Ensure efficient and compliant use of resources.
  • Work with admin/finance staff to support procurement, payroll, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Education, Environmental Studies, Development, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in the non-profit, education, or social enterprise space.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and deliver results.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across sectors (schools, government, NGOs, businesses).
  • Excellent communication skills in Vietnamese and working proficiency in English.
  • Passionate about environmental education and youth engagement.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment with evolving needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience leading a growing non-profit or social enterprise.
  • Familiarity with Vietnamese education system or environmental policy landscape.
  • Experience in fundraising, sponsorship, or CSR development.
  • Confident public speaker and comfortable engaging with media.
