Role Overview:
We are seeking a Privacy Counsel to join the Global DPO Office, focusing on privacy operations management, Vietnam data protection compliance, and supporting the global privacy framework.
This role requires a self-starter with strong data handling skills, attention to detail, and a passion for building a long-term career in privacy governance.
This position offers the opportunity to be trained and developed into senior roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations of the global privacy program (policy updates, RoPA maintenance, vendor assessments, privacy training coordination).
- Conduct first-level reviews of DPAs, privacy assessments and vendor privacy evaluations.
- Collaborate with data processing owners and technical and product teams to integrate Privacy by Design principles into product development.
- Monitor and report on compliance with Vietnams Personal Data Protection Decree (PDPD No. 13), Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) 2025, Laws on Data 2024 and other relevant interplay regulations.
- Consolidate and prepare privacy compliance reports from local DPOs or privacy counsels.
- Track privacy regulatory changes and proactively assess operational impacts globally and locally.
- Assist Global DPO in responding DSARs and interacting with local DPA of Vietnam.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Law, Data Management, Information Security, or related fields.
- 15 years&apos experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, or data governance roles.
- Obtaining certification or willing to take VnDPO course or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Vietnam PDPD/ PDPL and global general privacy framework concept (NIST Framework for privacy, GDPR or ISO27701).
- Strong skills in effective communication, data analysis, reporting, and operation. Project management skill is a plus point.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independent driving tasks.
- Proficient in English, Vietnamese is preferred.
