About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Planning Director to drive media strategy across our regional and in-market clients. This senior role requires establishing strong partnerships by deeply integrating with the client's business environment.
You will be responsible for developing integrated digital and offline media strategies, ensuring maximum effectiveness and profitability through skilled negotiation and plan management. Success requires synthesizing complex media statistics into clear, strategic recommendations, supervising team, and ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Expectations of a Planning Director:
- Establish a partner-relationship with regional & in-market clients by being involved in the business environment.
- Hone feasibility, profitability and negotiation skills through implementation and management of plans at best prices and terms to maximize effectiveness of placement's reach to client's consumers.
- Ensure professional deliveries in all client dealings.
- Collaborate with digital specialist teams across the region to develop digital strategy and media plan recommendations, integrating offline recommendations.
- Able to synthesize various media statistics and information to develop recommendations and opinions in the area of emerging digital media.
- Able to analyze, understand, & develop strategies for markets across the region.

- Monitor plan execution and serve as first point of contact to raise and resolve any identified issues/discrepancies.
- Ensure media deliverables are met on time and within budget and align with clients objectives.
- Ensure clear documentation on all communications with business partners and agency partners.
- Generate media insights using various data sources and craft strategic POVs based on data for internal and client audiences around media, brands, consumers, and experiences.
- Serve as first-level coach and supervisor to support team knowledge of agency, client, vendor, and industry basics as well as their overall skill development in the execution or monitoring of experience plans.
Skills & Experience:
- 710 years media planning experience required, with focus on strategic and operational planning and execution.
- Knowledgeable about and experienced with the concepts, approaches and issues involved in integrated planning.
- Adaptive and keen to learn on the digital ecosystem.
- Familiar with the timelines, processes and needs of the implementation of all media.
- Knowledgeable about new approaches to and developments in digital tactical planning (social and mobile included).
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving.
- Able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
- Technical proficiency, particularly with media systems and MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Integrate understanding into the work to make decisions on the business.
- Filter and adapt the different options and apply good judgment combined with hard facts to select which ideas will produce the best results.
- Understand what the client's business needs by understanding the history of the brand and what the client wants it to stand for.
- Understand the client's strategic intent and the implications for building the client's business.
- Proficient in all syndicated and proprietary media applications.
