Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support our regional/global operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure, while also serving as a key communication bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders across Japan and Korea.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for network incidents and resolve escalations in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with global IT teams and vendors to support network upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Ensure network security compliance by implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Manage IP addressing, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and VLANs.
- Work closely with Japanese and Korean stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of technical issues and solutions.
- Support documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams in both English and local languages when required.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in network infrastructure: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios, etc.).
- Good understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and in teams.
- Fluency in Japanese and Korean (business-level or higher).
- Proficiency in English communication for coordination with global teams.
Good to Have
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
- Experience working in multi-national IT environments.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
