Global enterprise network underpins collaboration, manufacturing, R&D and customer operations across offices, data centers and the cloud. As a Network Engineer based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be the primary owner of the Vietnam office network and a key contributor to global network infrastructure. You'll design, implement and support secure, reliable connectivity for our local site while partnering closely with the global Infrastructure & Network team to drive standards, automation and continuous improvement. Your work will directly impact the productivity of hundreds of employees in Vietnam, the stability of R&D and QA environments, and the reliability of connectivity back to global services.
Role Description
● Own the day‑to‑day operation of the Vietnam office network (LAN/WLAN/WAN), including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and internet circuits.
● Monitor and maintain site connectivity to corporate and cloud environments (MPLS/VPN/IPsec/SD‑WAN), working with global network engineers to implement changes and troubleshoot incidents.
● Plan and execute capacity and performance improvements (e.g., internet bandwidth upgrades, Wi‑Fi redesigns, QoS tuning) to support growing AI workloads, R&D traffic and hybrid work.
● Implement and maintain network security controls in alignment with corporate standards (segmentation, firewall policies, VPN profiles, routing policies, RA Guard / IPv6 controls, NAC where applicable).
● Support and evolve IPv4/IPv6 network designs in the Vietnam office (dual‑stack, VLANs, addressing plans, DHCP/DHCPv6, SLAAC, prefix delegation) in partnership with engineering teams.
● Provide L3 escalation for network‑related incidents impacting the Vietnam site (office, labs, manufacturing, meeting rooms), including on‑site hands when needed.
● Create and maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, IP/VLAN plans, circuit inventories, change records and standard operating procedures.
● Partner with IT Support, Endpoint Engineering, SRE, Manufacturing and InfoSec to design reliable solutions for new labs, QA setups, Zoom Rooms, and office technology projects (e.g., Neat bars, new circuits).
● Participate in change management, including planning, peer review and execution of network changes during approved windows.
● Work flexible hours across time zones, including off‑hours network infrastructure work (maintenance, deployments, cutovers) and occasional night or early‑morning syncs with US‑based teams when required by projects or incidents.
● Coordinate with local ISPs and vendors (e.g., order new circuits, handle outages, schedule maintenance, manage SLAs and escalations).
● Contribute to global network initiatives (standardization, automation, monitoring improvements, incident postmortems) as a member of the wider Infrastructure & Network team.
Qualifications
● 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in network engineering or similar role supporting enterprise networks (office, campus or branch).
● Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching (VLANs, STP, OSPF/BGP, VRRP/HSRP, QoS concepts).
● Practical experience with enterprise firewalls and VPNs (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, or similar), including site‑to‑site tunnels and remote access.
● Experience operating enterprise Wi‑Fi (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Ubiquiti or similar): SSID design, RF basics, authentication, troubleshooting.
● Working knowledge of IPv6 concepts and configuration (addressing, DHCPv6/SLAAC, prefix delegation, ICMPv6) or strong willingness to learn and adopt IPv6 at scale.
● Familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow/sFlow, syslog, cloud monitoring) and using data to drive incident response and capacity decisions.
● Ability to troubleshoot complex issues end‑to‑end, collaborating across teams (Endpoint, SRE, Security, Vendors) and communicating clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
● Comfort working in a global environment (remote teams, different time zones) and able to communicate fluently in English with US-based and other global teams.
● Strong ownership mindset, bias for action, and ability to work independently on‑site in the Vietnam office when needed (including occasional off‑hours change windows).
