Position: Mechanical Engineering Manager
Location: Binh Duong
Report to: BOM
Role Purpose: Lead and oversee all Technical Department activities to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency through well-defined objectives, effective processes, and strong controls.
Scope: Applies to all employees within the Technical function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage the Technical team to achieve high performance aligned with company strategy and production goals.
- Plan, organize, and monitor departmental activities while coaching team members to enhance their technical capabilities.
- Oversee workforce planning, including hiring, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Develop and execute technical strategies to support long-term manufacturing growth.
- Assess and implement new machinery, tooling, and technologies to meet evolving production needs.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and optimization of equipment performance.
- Ensure all systems, equipment, and software are maintained, updated, and compliant with industry standards.
- Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets; monitor and control departmental expenses.
- Support production to achieve targets related to productivity, cost, and output.
- Provide technical and engineering support to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
- Ensure timely preparation of technical documentation such as work instructions, job cards, tooling specs, and CAD/CAM programs.
- Manage tool room operations, including tooling and fixture design.
- Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to improve machining processes and product quality.
- Review RFQs to assess technical feasibility and compliance with customer requirements.
- Work with Sales and Finance to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Lead new product development projects and ensure successful transition into production.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and technical deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Analyze production variances and identify root causes for improvement.
- Partner with Supply Chain to define technical and quality requirements for suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and achievement of company objectives.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs to upskill the workforce.
- Strengthen team expertise in CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and manufacturing technologies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Provide regular reports on departmental performance and activities.
- Continuously develop personal and professional capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

- Be accountable for decisions and actions to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
Authority: As defined within the approved annual budget.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing
Experience: Minimum 10 years in precision engineering or manufacturing (Oil & Gas preferred); At least 5 years in a Technical Manager or similar leadership role
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of machine tools and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in CNC programming and metal cutting technologies
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems
- Solid understanding of production planning and scheduling
- Familiarity with API and ISO standards
- Financial awareness and budgeting capability
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with knowledge of Vietnamese labor regulations
