Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Excellence Manager is a critical new role to elevate Coherent operational performance. The position will:

  • Lead Automation Programs (35%), reducing manual dependency and increasing productivity.
  • Drive Innovation and Digitalization (35%) to strengthen data visibility and technology adoption.
  • Enhance Industrial Engineering (20%) through improved process flow, layout efficiency, and cycle-time optimization.
  • Provide Project Management (10%) for structured cross-functional execution.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 8+ years in automation, manufacturing excellence, industrial engineering, continuous improvement and lean mindset, process engineering, or operational excellence.
  • Strong background in precision manufacturing, optics, electronics, or manual assembly environments.

Skills

  • Project management excellence (PMP or equivalent is a plus)
  • Strong leadership & cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on implementation.
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Change management and CI culture building.
  • Effective communication in English.
  • Effective communication & Ownership.

Working Conditions

  • Works in standard office/manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to some of chemicals and machine oils.
  • Ability to leadership team, innovation proactive thinking and readiness for change are essential demands at work.

Safety Requirements

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
