Position Summary: As a Manager, HR Shared Services, you are an individual contributor responsible for the precise execution and technical oversight of HR operations across Southeast Asia. In this role, you serve as the functional expert for payroll, benefits, and compliance, ensuring that complex administrative workstreams meet Walmart's rigorous standards for accuracy and legal adherence. You will leverage your deep subject matter expertise to maintain data integrity and optimize the associate experience through efficient service delivery.

About The Role

This is a strategic individual contributor role focused on the end-to-end technical execution of HR Shared Services. You will act as the primary owner of payroll accuracy and statutory compliance, employing high analytical rigor to manage outsourced vendor performance. Your expertise will be vital in navigating the diverse labor laws of Southeast Asia, managing HR system data, and providing the senior leadership team with the data-backed insights required for corporate planning and management reporting.

What You'll Do

  • Payroll & Benefits Ownership: Execute the end-to-end review and approval of payroll, leave, and benefits details, maintaining a zero-error standard across the full compensation spectrum.
  • Vendor Performance Management: Closely monitor and coordinate with outsourced payroll and immigration vendors to ensure timely delivery of payroll runs and foreign associate Work Permits/TRCs.
  • Audit & Compliance Authority: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits and regulatory bodies, ensuring all statutory filings (Provident Fund, Income Tax) are submitted within strict deadlines.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Perform detailed monthly payroll and headcount reconciliations, providing variance analysis to explain fluctuations in labor costs or headcount.
  • Regulatory Processing: Manage government-paid leave applications (National Service, Paternity, Maternity, etc.) and ensure all claims for shift allowances and overtime are verified and compliant.
  • HRIS System Integrity: Responsible for the accuracy of associate and contractor data inputs; act as a functional lead for HR system implementation, testing, and upgrades.
  • Advanced Reporting: Compile statutory statistical information and generate ad-hoc reports/surveys for corporate planning and senior management analysis.
  • Benefit Program Coordination: Facilitate the administration of annual associate benefit programs, such as health check-ups and private health insurance renewals.
  • Operational Problem Solving: Act as the subject matter expert to resolve complex payroll or administrative issues, liaising with banks and local authorities as needed.
  • Process Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement new ways of working through digitization and enhanced data management.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Regional Functional Expertise:58 years of hands-on experience in HR and payroll administration, specifically handling transactions across Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia).
  • Technical Compliance Knowledge: Deep expertise in local employment laws, personal tax regulations, and local provident fund requirements for the assigned regions.
  • Shared Services & Systems Fluency: Proven experience working within a Shared Services environment; functional knowledge of Workday or similar HRIS platforms is a significant advantage.
  • Analytical Rigor: Highly meticulous and data-savvy, with a strong ability to interpret complex business fundamentals and manage large-scale numerical datasets.
  • Action-Oriented Ownership: A self-driven professional who thrives in an environment demanding autonomy, resilience, and the ability to meet aggressive operational deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex HR data into clear insights for internal and external stakeholders.
