Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to enhance yield, quality, capacity, and cost performance.
  • Lead engineering teams in troubleshooting, corrective actions, SPC-based process control, and major quality or production issues.
  • Support NPI/NPT teams in prototype builds, qualification runs, and timely release of new processes.
  • Manage engineering documentation, team development, cross-training, and performance management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electronic, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership/managerial role.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments; semiconductor experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive results through others.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities in complex engineering environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional teams, and work effectively in a global, multicultural setting.
  • Knowledge of SMT processes and key manufacturing technologies (e.g., solder printing, high-temperature furnace).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for influencing and resolving issues.
  • Ability to drive process automation and system improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of leading discussions and preparing technical documents and reports.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, machine oils, and production equipment.
  • Requires frequent presence on the production floor for monitoring, troubleshooting, and team supervision.
  • Must operate in a dynamic environment with rapid changes and high expectations for problem resolution.
  • Mental alertness and strong visual attention required for process oversight and engineering analysis.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move across production areas for extended periods.
  • Capability to interact with manufacturing equipment and handle engineering tools/materials as needed.
  • Ability to follow EH&S requirements and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must perform detailed visual inspections and work with fine-scale components when required.

Quality And Environmental Responsibilities

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
