The Country Operations Manager is responsible for leading and transforming national logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring best-in-class service delivery, operational excellence, and sustainable profitability.
This is a critical leadership role for a highly driven and commercially minded operations leader who can scale operations, optimize performance, and build strong customer partnerships in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Strategy & Performance
- Lead end-to-end logistics operations across warehousing and distribution, delivering high service quality, efficiency, and on-time performance.
- Own and manage the country operations P&L, including budgeting, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
- Drive performance management through clear KPIs, identifying gaps and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Optimize resource utilization across facilities, transport networks, and workforce planning to maximize productivity and cost efficiency.
- Leadership & Organization
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Managers and large, diverse operational teams.
- Build a strong, high-performing organization with clear accountability, ownership, and performance discipline.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop leadership capability and succession pipelines for key roles within the operations function.
- Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high satisfaction, retention, and service excellence.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical operational and service issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, product, and support functions to deliver integrated and customer-centric solutions.
- Provide regular operational insights, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and regional stakeholders.
- Execution, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure operational discipline, consistency, and adherence to company standards and processes (including Toll Operation Platform).
- Lead the resolution of complex operational challenges while minimizing business disruption.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization initiatives across operations.
- Champion safety, compliance, and risk management across all operational activities.
- Lead or participate in strategic projects and transformation initiatives at country or regional level.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8–15 years of experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics operations (warehousing and distribution), with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record managing large-scale operations, including leading managers and teams of 100+ employees.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with hands-on experience managing P&L, budgeting, and cost optimization.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational transformation, process improvement, and change management initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, working across cross-functional and regional teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills in a multicultural environment.
- Fluent in English; Vietnamese language capability is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a data-driven mindset.
