Position: Localization Specialist
Location: CMC Creative Space, District 7, HCM.
Working Hour: Mon – Fri | 9.00 AM – 6.00 PM
1. Get to know the role:
- This role is part of the localization team, which sits with the product team in company. This is a full-time position based in Vietnam, with remote collaboration required.
- We're looking for an in-house Language Specialist to design experience through language for company's superapp. You'll be the go-to person for localizing, editing, proofreading and transcreating projects from English to Vietnamese.
- This is the perfect role if you have a passion for language and want to shape company's voice for the audience in your market. Looking beyond translation, you're also a UX practitioner who understands how to apply research insights to your content solutions to solve user problems.
- Your daily work involves collaborating with various functions including UX writers, engineers, product designers, product managers, country business stakeholders, legal consultants, and vendors.
2. Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the timely, day-to-day delivery of assigned localization projects for the Vietnam market
- Collaborate with Product Designers, UX Writers and Product teams overall to ensure that language requirements from technical and linguistic perspectives are well understood and supported
- Work closely with Regional and Country stakeholders to produce precise and effective content that addresses consumer needs in Vietnam, developing terminology for new products if needed
- Maintain and update Vietnamese Content Style Guide and Glossary to ensure in-app content quality and consistency
- Proactively participate in and contribute to Localization teams meetings, initiatives, and projects (non-tech or tech-related)
- Identify and document areas of improvement and suggestions for a more effective localization workflow
- Take part in usability testing, user research and content experiments to gain and apply appropriate insights into the content localization process
- Conduct desk checks for Vietnamese localized content during and after the engineering development phase to identify and resolve linguistic/formatting issues and bugs
- Review, train and supervise external language vendors and AI to ensure that localized content is culturally appropriate, fully compliant, and aligned with our brand's voice and tone
- Leverage existing AI tools to automate workflow and enhance work productivity and efficiency
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager
3. The Must-haves
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in relevant fields such as Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or other related fields
- Ability to read, write and speak in Vietnamese and English fluently
- Stay up to date with culture, trends and current affairs in Vietnam
- Minimum 2 years of localization or relevant experience with in-house product content team, product team, or translation agencies (preferably having post-LLM/MT editing experiences)
- Familiar with UX writing abilities and design mindsets that demonstrate user-centric thinking
- Understanding of user experience design for mobile apps and/or websites
- Strong time management, organizational, multitasking
- Ability to work in team and independently
- Good at foreseeing problems and suggesting actionable solutions
- Confident in collaborating with team members and stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
4. The Good-to-Haves:
- Have experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic tech company
- Detail-oriented, quality-focused and proactive, with the ability to manage high volume of localization projects
- Familiarity with TMS tools (Lokalise, Crowdin, Phrase), cloud-based collaboration tools (Figma, Google Workspace), and other related CAT tools
- Have knowledge of AI prompting and vibe-coding
- Possess analytical, critical, and creative thinking
5. Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: up to 29,000,000 VND Gross/month + 1-month bonus after 12-month completion
- Service voucher: 300,000 VND/month
