Role OverviewThe International Program Division at HEI Schools Saigon Central is responsible for implementing a holistic, child-centred education that reflects the Finnish-inspired HEI pedagogy while meeting international and local early years standards. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where children are encouraged to explore, inquire, and express themselves freely. This role requires strong pedagogical expertise, a deep understanding of child development, and the ability to collaborate in a multicultural and bilingual context.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Pedagogy:- Design and deliver high-quality, age-appropriate lessons in line with the HEI Schools Curriculum, integrating play-based, inquiry-based, and project-based approaches.
- Incorporate multi-sensory activities that foster curiosity, imagination, problem-solving, and creativity.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including children with varying developmental profiles.
- Promote social-emotional learning and positive behaviour management consistent with HEIs nurturing philosophy.
Child Development & Assessment:- Conduct continuous observation, documentation, and assessment of childrens growth across developmental domains (cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical).
- Prepare individual learning reports and progress updates for parents and the school leadership.
- Identify early signs of developmental delays or behavioural concerns and collaborate with specialists when necessary.
Health, Safety & Well-being:- Ensure childrens physical and emotional safety within the classroom and playground areas, following the schools safeguarding protocols.
- Promote healthy routines such as nutrition, hygiene, rest, and exercise.
- Support children in building resilience, empathy, and self-regulation.
Collaboration & Communication:- Work closely with local teachers, assistants, and administrative staff to create a bilingual and bicultural classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents in a professional, supportive, and culturally sensitive manner.
- Participate in professional learning communities, workshops, and reflective practice sessions to continuously improve teaching quality.
- Actively contribute to school events, community-building activities, and family engagement projects.
Professional Development & Contribution:- Engage in continuous professional learning, including courses, seminars, and in-house training.
- Share expertise with colleagues and mentor junior staff when required.

Qualifications & RequirementsEducation:- Bachelors Degree or higher in one of the following fields (mandatory):
- Early Childhood Education
- Education (Primary or Early Years focus)
- Psychology (Educational, Developmental, or Child Psychology)
- Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or Pedagogy (preferred, an advantage).
- Recognised Teaching License/Certificate in Early Childhood or Primary Education (preferred).
Professional Certifications (valued, but not a substitute for core degree requirement):- Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf/Steiner, or other recognised Early Years pedagogical training.
- TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA (only accepted as an additional qualification to enhance English teaching skills).
Experience- Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience in early childhood or primary settings.
- Experience in an international or bilingual school environment (advantage).
- Knowledge or practice of Finnish, Reggio Emilia, or play-based pedagogy highly valued.
- Experience in observing and supporting childrens psychological well-being and social-emotional growth is strongly preferred.
Language Requirements- Native or near-native proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural setting.
