Job Description
- You will have a key role in the management of legal and regulatory matters , working closely and regularly with various competencies of all levels. You will get an opportunity to work in a US listed company, interface with various law firms, and liaise with government agencies.
- Draft, advise and negotiate on commercial contracts related to company's daily business, mainly focusing on the following areas, including but not limited to, e-hailing and transportation, e-commerce & trading, labor and litigations.
- Daily support on legal advice and legal analysis to the Regional and Country business stakeholders on a broad range of issues such as matters relating to consumer protection, driver operations, merchant disputes, etc.
- Revamp and review compliance status of all Vietnam businesses following the effectiveness of new laws, including Law on Consumer Protection, Law on E-commerce, Law on E-transaction and related regulations on transportation business and safety on road.
- Develop and implement draft policies, procedures, processes and guiding documents to enhance the compliance status across all businesses.
- Conduct, liaise and work with relevant licensing authorities in relation to operational licenses of the company.
- Perform any other duties or projects as assigned by the Regional and/or management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in laws;
- Admitted to the Bar Association is favorable;
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Vietnamese (including legal language and terminology)
- Having the ability and commitment to travel within and, at times on short notice, in Vietnam or in SEA.
- At least 3-5 years working experience, with a preferable of at least 2 years in-house counsel experience in multi-national company.
- Having a strong legal, analytical, communication and presentation skills (commensurate with the candidate's experience);
- Having an ability to understand the business, commercial requirements, company's strategies and directions, its people and its organizational structure;
- Having awareness of legal and commercial risks as well as the ability to balance such risks against business benefits, with appropriate mitigation measures taken;
- Having an ability to work under immense pressure and with minimal supervision.
