JOB SUMMARY
Providing legal advice on issues arising in commercial business activities; product development; partnerships, advertising, communications, promotions; consumer complaint handling; and managing the intellectual property system. Ensure that the Company, its subsidiaries, and affiliated units operate in compliance with applicable laws and internal regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly implement or coordinate (as assigned) the registration, establishment, and management of the Company's intellectual property portfolio; carry out activities related to protection and establishment of IP rights for the Company, its subsidiaries and affiliated units in accordance with internal IP management regulations.
- Directly implement or coordinate (as assigned) the assessment and compliance review of legal and internal regulations in daily operations of the Company, its subsidiaries and affiliated units, according to plans set by the direct supervisor.
- Draft or contribute to drafting internal governance documents (policies, procedures, regulations, guidelines, etc.) under the function's responsibility or related to legal compliance in operations across divisions, departments, and units within the Company.
- Implement or coordinate the legal compliance review regarding:
- Product labeling (mandatory label information and promotional/marketing content on labels);
- Daily business operations and trade promotion activities.
- Conduct or support (as assigned) legal training and knowledge sharing in the relevant legal areas for employees of the Company, subsidiaries, and affiliated units according to approved plans.
- Draft, review, and manage the Contract Library system and standard contract templates for the Company's operational needs.
- Provide legal advice and handle legal issues arising in the Company's operations, subsidiaries, and affiliated units within the assigned scope.
- Draft, update, and issue internal legal bulletins/newsletters to monitor legal developments and update key regulations related to IP and other legal matters impacting the Company's operations.
- Comply with all regulations, procedures, and work instructions of the Legal Department – Product, Commercial and IP.
- Prepare reports and perform other related tasks as assigned by the Head of Department/Line Manager.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Law;
- Lawyer practicing certificate is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- For Specialist level: Minimum 3 years of experience in legal roles within large corporations (VNR500), FDI companies, or as a legal consultant/lawyer in a law firm.
- For Manager level: Minimum of 5 years experience in legal roles within large-scale corporations (VNR500), foreign-invested enterprises (FDI), or as a legal consultant/lawyer at a law firm; including at least 2 years of management experience in an equivalent position within a corporation or in the consulting division of a law firm.
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- General knowledge of economic, administrative, and litigation laws;
- Preferably knowledgeable in IP law, manufacturing, trading, domestic/international commerce (especially in FMCG/food industry), and trade promotion activities;
- Basic understanding of business administration;
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Effective communication and presentation skills;
- Planning and execution skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
- Negotiation and persuasion skills.
