Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on coding and code review as other peer developers as needed
- Understand the requirements of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge to develop applications that are consistent with this
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based backend services using Spring Boot and microservices architecture
- Work with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, OpenSearch, ECS, SSM) to support backend applications and data processing workflows.
- Participate in application deployment using existing CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Helm.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications running on AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Troubleshoot deployment and application issues with guidance from senior engineers when needed.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities: daily standup, demo session, retrospective, estimate, and planning, etc
Qualifications
General requirements:
- Intermediate English communication (able to work with international clients with support)
- Likely having 3+ years of experience depending on how fast of your learning and developing technical capability
- Ability to self-learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
Technical requirements:
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Strong experience with JAVA web-based technologies: Spring (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Boot) and ORM (JPA, Hibernate)
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
Nice to have:
- Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and front-end frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, Angular, VueJS, KnockoutJS)
- Experience using AI chat tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) for research, debugging, and learning
- Familiarity with at least one AI coding assistant (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar)
- Ability to write clear, contextual prompts to generate code snippets, unit tests, or documentation
- Awareness of AI output limitations and responsible AI use (data privacy, handling of sensitive client data)
