Job Description

Kenno is looking for a full-stack analyst who can understand businesses deeply, think independently, and make decisions that drive fund returns. The role is centred on turning insight into action, with a clear link between analysis, portfolio decisions, and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

As a senior investment analyst, you are responsible for turning in-depth research into investment decisions and supporting portfolio performance and client outcomes in line with the Fund's mandate. The role spans four core areas: research, recommendations, reporting, and relationships.

Research – Building deep, differentiated, forward-looking understanding

  • Own coverage of a focused set of sectors and companies end-to-end, developing a deep understanding of the unit economics and the key drivers of valuation and earnings, and how these are likely to evolve over time
  • Conduct fundamental research, including qualitative fieldwork and primary research, to form a differentiated, forward-looking view on company performance relative to market expectations
  • Build and maintain advanced financial models (3-statement, DCF, multiples, scenario and sensitivity analysis) to translate business drivers into financial forecasts, test assumptions, and assess the impact of different scenarios on valuation
  • Generate new investment ideas based on independent insights and mispricing between market expectations and underlying fundamentals

Recommendations – Driving capital allocation decisions

  • Generate high-conviction, actionable investment recommendations based on a differentiated view relative to market expectations
  • Clearly articulate the investment thesis, what the market is mispricing, and key catalysts that will drive the convergence between price and intrinsic value
  • Translate business and industry understanding into valuation, target prices, and expected returns, with a clear view on upside, downside, and key risks to the thesis
  • Drive input into portfolio construction by evaluating risk/reward, liquidity, correlation, and drawdown risks, and proposing position sizing, adds, trims, and exits
  • Present and defend investment ideas to the Portfolio Manager and internal stakeholders, addressing counterarguments and alternative scenarios to build shared conviction in the investment thesis

Reporting – Communicating investment thinking for decisions and clients

  • Communicate investment views clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders, ensuring ideas can be understood, challenged, and acted upon
  • Provide timely updates around key events (e.g. earnings releases, major announcements), highlighting implications for valuation, thesis, and portfolio construction
  • Document investment thinking in a structured and consistent way, maintaining a clear record of thesis assumptions, key drivers, and how they evolve over time as new information emerges
  • Contribute to internal and client-facing reporting (incl. investment memos, IC presentations, and client communications), translating portfolio developments and investment decisions into clear, coherent narratives
  • Ensure all outputs you produce are clear, well-structured, and of publication-ready quality, and aligned with the firm's communication standards

Relationships – Building information edge

  • Build and maintain relationships with company management teams, industry participants, and other relevant stakeholders to develop proprietary insights and a differentiated understanding
  • Engage in regular company meetings, site visits, and industry interactions to validate assumptions, test hypotheses, and identify emerging trends
  • Use external interactions to challenge existing views and uncover information not reflected in market expectations
  • Develop a network of sources that improves the quality, speed, and depth of information used in investment decisions
  • Operate strictly within MNPI and compliance protocols at all times

Qualifications

  • A value-oriented investment mindset, grounded in fundamental analysis and intrinsic value creation, with a realistic understanding of equity market behaviour
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in buy-side investing, sell-side equity research, investment banking, or private equity with demonstrable public markets skillset
  • Demonstrated ability to form independent, differentiated investment views and translate them into actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to accelerate research and improve decision-making, while maintaining strong judgement and auditability
  • Familiarity with core research and modelling tools (e.g. Bloomberg, FiinPro, Macabacus) preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree (MBA/MSc) a plus
  • Progress toward or completion of CFA (or equivalent) preferred

Core competencies

  • Analytical rigour and hypothesis-driven thinking, with the ability to identify the key drivers of valuation and focus on what matters under uncertainty
  • Structured and efficient thinking, with the ability to organise workflows and continuously improve speed, clarity, and quality of output
  • Clear and precise communication of investment thinking, including well-defined theses, catalysts, and explicit risk framing
  • Sound investment judgement, with the ability to make decisions under uncertainty, particularly in assessing risk/reward, downside scenarios, and position sizing
  • High integrity and disciplined compliance mindset, including strict adherence to MNPI and internal policies (non-negotiable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex investment ideas into clear, publication-ready internal and client-facing outputs
  • Contribution to a high-performing investment team, including challenging ideas constructively, sharing insights, and proactively raising overall team standards

Performance

Performance is assessed based on both investment outcomes and quality of work, including:

  • Accuracy and robustness of forecasts and valuation frameworks
  • Quality, differentiation, and impact of investment recommendations
  • Depth of company understanding and consistency of thesis tracking
  • Contribution to portfolio performance, including idea hit-rate and risk management
  • Consistency of judgement and overall work quality
  • Client feedback on the quality, clarity, and usefulness of reporting and investment insights

Compensation

Compensation includes a competitive base salary commensurate with experience, as well as short- and long-term performance-linked incentives aligned with client outcomes.

As a client-centric firm, Kenno operates on the principle that superior investment performance is a team effort, not an individual sport. Success is therefore shared across the firm through an entrepreneurial compensation structure, in which employees participate in the company's profits when performance targets are met.

Working style

Kenno operates with a high-trust, high-responsibility culture, where performance is driven by self-discipline rather than supervision. Team members are expected to take ownership of their work and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

For this role, we are looking for someone who thinks like an investor: intellectually honest and disciplined, comfortable being wrong, and able to update views quickly as new information emerges. The role requires a strong focus on outcomes, a bias toward depth over breadth, and a high degree of personal ownership.

Our values – grit, integrity, and excellence – define how we operate: the resilience to pursue the right answer, the discipline to act with honesty and sound judgement, and a consistent commitment to high-quality work.

Kenno operates as an international team, with offices and/or operations in Finland, Luxembourg, Singapore, and Vietnam. Regardless of location, we work as one team, with English as the company language and a shared focus on delivering results for clients.

We prefer working from the office, and periodic domestic and international travel is required. Strict confidentiality and adherence to compliance procedures are mandatory.
