Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing our production processes, eliminating waste, and improving overall operational efficiency. You will apply principles of engineering, data analysis, and lean manufacturing to enhance productivity, quality, and safety across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement: Analyze current production processes, identify bottlenecks, and design efficient workflows using methods like time studies, value stream mapping, and workflow analysis.
  • Capacity Planning: Determine human and equipment resources needed for maximum productivity and output. Model production scenarios to support strategic decisions.
  • Layout Design: Plan and design efficient factory and production line layouts to optimize material flow, minimize waste (transportation, motion), and improve space utilization.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in Kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and other lean projects to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Time & Motion Studies: Establish standard times for operations to create data-driven standards for staffing, capacity, and costing.
  • Cost Reduction: Identify and implement projects aimed at reducing labor, material, and overhead costs while maintaining or improving quality.
  • Ergonomics & Safety: Evaluate workstations for ergonomic risks and collaborate with the EHS team to implement solutions that enhance employee safety and well-being.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze production data to create reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, justifying improvements and tracking project success.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Work with product development and quality teams to ensure new products are designed for maneuverability (DFM) and can be launched smoothly into production.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role within a manufacturing environment. On-site improvement experience in the mechanical/electrical processing industry is preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading process improvement and cost-saving projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for facility and layout planning.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Minitab, Tableau).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of simulation software is a plus.

Methodology Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPS principles.
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) is a strong advantage.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence operators and management.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Language: Good communication skills of oral and written English.
