Our client is a leading banking corporation in Vietnam, seeking experienced professionals to join their firm.
Job Description
- Lead and manage the Legal Department, ensuring the organization's operations, commercial activities, and corporate actions comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic legal guidance to business units and support functions to safeguard the company's interests and minimize legal, financial, and reputational risks.
- Oversee the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure accuracy and enforceability.
- Supervise legal research activities and monitor regulatory developments that may affect business operations, ensuring timely updates to management.
- Manage and evaluate external legal counsel, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of outsourced legal services.
- Direct the handling of disputes, litigation, and recovery cases, ensuring appropriate strategies and resolutions.
- Advise senior management on legal risks, corporate governance matters, and compliance issues.
- Ensure internal policies, procedures, and business practices are consistent with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Represent the organization in interactions with regulators, authorities, external partners, and legal institutions when required.
- Lead the development of legal frameworks, templates, and processes to support business growth and improve operational efficiency.
- Build and mentor a high-performing legal team, fostering continuous learning, professional ethics, and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law; a postgraduate or professional qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 810 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within financial services, banking, or corporate sectors, with at least several years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial transactions, regulatory requirements, and legal matters related to the financial and banking industry.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and sound judgment under pressure.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advise senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing legal teams or external counsel.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
