Job Title: Head of Finance and Accounting
Reporting Line: Managing Director / Regional Finance Lead
Team Size: Mid-sized finance function
Role Purpose: This role leads the Accounting & Finance function for a confidential multinational organization operating in Vietnam. The position carries full accountability for financial governance, performance management, compliance, and business partnering. The successful candidate will operate as a core member of the leadership team, ensuring financial discipline while enabling sustainable growth.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to senior management, providing insight-driven support for commercial and operational decision-making.
- Translate business strategies into financial plans, scenarios, and performance metrics.
- Challenge assumptions, highlight risks, and recommend value-creation initiatives.
Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial planning processes.
- Monitor performance against targets and drive corrective actions.
- Deliver concise, decision-oriented management reports for leadership review.
Accounting, Reporting & Governance
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, statutory reporting, and month-end closing.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, group policies, and local statutory requirements.
- Maintain strong balance sheet integrity, working capital discipline, and cash visibility.
Cash, Capital & Risk Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and funding coordination with regional or group stakeholders.
- Evaluate and control capital expenditure, including financial justification and post-investment review.
- Identify financial and operational risks and ensure effective internal control frameworks.
Systems & Process Excellence
- Own finance systems governance and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support ERP optimization and finance digitalization to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure finance processes are robust, auditable, and fit for growth.
Audit & External Interface
- Act as primary contact for external auditors, internal audit, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure audit readiness and timely resolution of findings.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, building a strong succession pipeline.
- Set clear performance expectations and foster a high-accountability culture.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Recognized professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting within multinational or structured corporate environments.
- Strong exposure to financial controlling, statutory reporting, and senior-level business partnering.
- Solid ERP experience (SAP or equivalent preferred).
