Job Description

Your Job

As an Engineer, Testing, you will play a key role in supporting opto‑electronic and optical fiber cable manufacturing through advanced test system development, integration, and data analysis. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, accurate, and scalable testing solutions that support product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and global deployment. You will work hands-on with test equipment, software, and cross-functional teams to analyze performance, resolve failures, and continuously improve testing capability.

Our Team

You will be part of the Operations Engineering organization within DSS, working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, MIE, Design, and Programming teams. The team collaborates globally to develop, deploy, and sustain robust testing systems that support high-volume optical and opto‑electronic production.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and enhance optical and opto‑electronic test systems used across multiple manufacturing locations worldwide
  • Enable high-quality manufacturing by performing electrical and optical testing, analyzing test data, and identifying critical-to-quality characteristics
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for test failures, ensuring issues are clearly documented and effectively resolved
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver globally deployable automated test systems, including hardware, software, fixtures, and documentation
  • Create and execute comprehensive test plans, system verification, validation activities, and software reviews
  • Integrate custom circuit boards, mechanical fixtures, and industry-standard test equipment into reliable test platforms
  • Develop clear technical documentation, specifications, and work instructions to support manufacturing and test consistency
  • Ensure compliance with company requirements related to 5S, Kaizen, EHS, RBA, and protection of company assets
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen quality systems and manufacturing performance

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Computer, or equivalent discipline)
  • More than 2 years of experience in test engineering, measurement, or manufacturing test environments
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled programming language (such as C/C++, VB, or C#) and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and apply structured root cause analysis
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with RF or high-speed test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, TDR, network analyzers, and BER testers
  • Solid understanding of high-speed signal integrity concepts such as S-parameters, eye diagrams, jitter, and crosstalk
  • Experience with RF or high-speed PCB design, layout, or electromagnetic simulation tools
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies, including data-driven quality tools
