Job Description

TITLE:Engineer 2, Coating

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

Responsible for Coating process engineering and documentation, methods analysis/improvements, machines layout and equipment acquisition, preparation of equipment justification and appropriation request development, and maintenance of manufacturing information and Statistical process control systems, providing analytical troubleshooting leadership, and leading projects designed to improve efficiencies, assure quality and reduce costs. Hands-on to involve process and production activity is a must.

Also responsible for carrying out special assignment in compliance with government regulatory, Agencies, developing company health and safety policies, marketing and customer services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Education

• BS degree in engineering or sciences, prefer from the field of optics engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering.
  
  

Experience

• 3+ years working experience in manufacturing & process engineering; an optics manufacturing environment or a highly technical, quality oriented, high volume, light-manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience in thin film science is preferred.
  
  

Special abilities

• Experience in well-developed fault isolation, problem solving & analytical skills.
• Experience in methodisation and improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Experience in designing simple tools, jigs and fixture for manufacturing processes.
• Experience in using P-FMEA, SPC and other statistical methods.
• Experience in using AutoCAD.
• Ability to use English for Business Communication. Mandarin as the 3rd language is an advantage.

• Pre-order technical review and cost evaluation, quote to customer on time
• Technical communication with sales/customer, pro-active to understand product application and customer requirement

ENGINEERING PROCESS MANAGEMENT

Fully Understand Current Process Capability. Execute; Improve Processes Simply, Reliably, And Efficiently. Reduce Process Variance. Ensure Product Yield Achieve Target. Specific Duties Including But Not Limited To:

• Ensure the readiness, up-to-date and reliability of processes WI, WPS, BOM/Routing.
• Ensure P-FMEA was updated and apply on time.
• Trouble shooting on shop floor.
• New processes or process changes are evaluated, documented, and are compatible with corporate engineering and manufacturing information systems.
• Strict enforcement of manufacturing procedures & equipment operation though training & audits
• Leads and/or participates in resolutions or problem, which may be people, machinery or process related
• Train operators and technicians on technical aspects of process flow & equipment operation, including safety.
• Weekly review for improvement to meet target yield of process.
• Complete CAR and Task efficiently on time
• PROCESS OPTIMISATION AND IMPROVEMENT

Saving cost by continual optimize and improve processing method, material, tooling, consumable etc. Specific duties including but not limited to:

• QRB Project. Qualify for new material, machine, tooling, consumable, process (exclude measurement related)
• Improvement Project for cost saving and capability improvement
• Develop alternative material, tooling, consumable, machine
• Optimizing process to shorten cycle time
• Support P.I.C team for supply chain localize for cost saving
• PROCESS CAPABILITY IMPROVEMENT

Develop new process technique. Extend process capability. Capture new part order. Specific duties including but not limited to:

• Drive new product/process, new process technique.
• Organize actively trial for new process method, new tooling, new consumable

Technical problem handling and support for internal customer. Specific duties including but not limited to:

• Support QA for customer complaint investigation and improve (for engineering issue)
• Support Product Engineers for trouble shooting and do trial processes for improvement.
• Support Production team for abnormal issues
