Director, Financial Markets Trading

1.About the role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Markets, the Financial Markets Trading Director will lead the Bank's financial markets business by developing and executing trading strategies, identifying market opportunities, managing portfolios and risks, and driving the growth of financial market products. This role serves as a key strategic advisor to senior management while fostering strong relationships with regulators, financial institutions, and market participants to strengthen the Bank's position in the market.

2.Key Accountabilities

Strategic Leadership & Market Development

• Analyze market trends, macroeconomic developments, and competitive dynamics to identify business and trading opportunities.
• Develop and execute financial markets strategies, business plans, and product growth initiatives.
• Advise senior leadership on market outlook, investment opportunities, and strategic priorities.
• Drive innovation in financial market products and trading capabilities.

Trading & Portfolio Management

• Lead and oversee proprietary trading activities across financial market products.
• Manage trading positions, liquidity, and portfolio performance within approved risk limits.
• Partner closely with Risk Management teams to ensure robust risk governance and effective portfolio monitoring.
• Develop pricing methodologies, trading tools, and performance measurement frameworks.
• Proactively identify market risks and implement timely mitigation actions.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

• Build and strengthen relationships with financial institutions, trading counterparties, regulators, and market associations.
• Represent the bank in the financial markets community and enhance the bank's market reputation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Treasury, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Risk Management, Finance, and Technology functions to deliver business objectives.

3.Success Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in Financial Markets, Treasury, or Banking, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Recognized expertise in FX, Rates, and Derivatives products, with a strong track record in trading strategy, risk management, and Financial Markets leadershipProven experience in market risk and liquidity risk management.
• Proficient in Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and Excel; Python, quantitative modelling, or AI applications in finance are a plus.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change management capabilities
