Job Description

The Role

Who are we

Yedda is an AI company that aims to improve clients performance by providing visibility to data that has historically been difficult to access. We do this by analysing feeds from existing CCTV systems and measuring selected visual actions in real time. Yedda helps customers drive performance, detect fraud, and make better decisions.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps/Backend Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this hybrid role, you will be crucial in building, deploying, and maintaining the microservices that power our sophisticated systems. You'll work at the intersection of development and operations, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and secure, while also contributing directly to the backend codebase. If you are passionate about CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and writing high-quality code, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain: Write and maintain components of the microservices backend for sophisticated systems running on scalable CI/CD pipelines.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Build APIs and automation frameworks to support efficient deployments, testing, and infrastructure management.
  • Cloud Management: Manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS/GCP), focusing on reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Observability: Develop robust monitoring, alerting, and self-healing systems to ensure the high availability and performance of production services.
  • Security & Compliance: Integrate security and compliance best practices directly into the development and deployment workflows (DevSecOps).
  • Architectural Contribution: Contribute to and lead architecture discussions, particularly concerning system scalability, performance optimization, and resilience.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: Negotiable
  • Flexibility: A remote-friendly and flexible working environment that prioritizes work-life balance.
  • Impact: Opportunities to work on challenging, high-impact technical problems that drive the business forward.
  • Culture: A collaborative, inclusive team environment where your ideas are valued and listened to.

Required

Ideal Profile:

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or a related role.
  • Programming: Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Python, C#, Node.js).
  • Containers & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • CI/CD: Solid understanding and practical experience with CI/CD tools and best practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Database Knowledge: Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
  • Software Design: Good understanding of software architecture, RESTful APIs, and microservices design patterns.

Nice to Have

  • Cloud Expertise: Strong practical grasp of major cloud service providers (AWS/GCP).
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or a similar framework.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with observability and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
  • Service Mesh: Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • QA Automation: Experience with test automation and integrating QA pipelines into the CI/CD process.
  • Certifications: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA/CKAD).
  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
