Job Description

MEDLOG is a growing cargo business of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, the world's largest container carrier.

Following its expansion, Medlog Vietnam Holding (MVH) is looking for an experienced and versatileCommercial Manager to support the commercial performance of our logistics and transportation operations. This role requires a strong business acumen, operational understanding, and the ability to manage both ongoing business activities and strategic projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and can adapt quickly to changing priorities. The position is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and the successful candidate will report to the Commercial & Development Director of Medlog Vietnam Holding.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Business Development

  • Support in developing and executing commercial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in logistics and transportation services.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform pricing, service offerings, and expansion plans.
  • Build, manage, and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring risk and compliance factors are properly addressed.

Operational Support & Optimization

  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and relevant teams to align commercial goals with day-to-day logistics execution.
  • Analyze operational data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and cost optimization.
  • Monitor KPIs and ensure targets related to revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction are met.

Project Management & Implementation

  • Participate in strategic and client-driven projects (e.g., depot/warehouse setup, digital transformation, fleet expansion).
  • Develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Track project progress, manage risks, and ensure alignment with commercial and operational priorities.

Other tasks

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in industry events and customer meetings.
  • Support and guide other team members on a relevant scope, if applicable.
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the management.

Key Experience & Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 3-4 years of commercial experience in logistics, transport, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in business development, client management, and project delivery.
  • Significant experience in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of logistics operations and commercial drivers.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in both BAU and project settings.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make sound business decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial software (CRM, ERP, TMS, WMS preferred).
  • Proficiency in English and excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good teamwork spirit, and proactive attitude
  • Dynamic and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate by Chinese is a plus.
