CarbonTrace enables institutional and retail investors to trade and retire credits with confidence, meeting international standards such as EU CBAM, MiCA, and SEC requirements
About the Role
Pierre Rouge Capital is developing CarbonTrace, a blockchain-powered platform for sourcing, verifying, and tokenizing carbon credits. We are hiring a Backend Rust / Smart Contract Engineer to build secure, scalable, and compliant smart contracts on Solana and support backend integrations with registries and compliance systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop smart contracts on Solana using Rust + Anchor framework.
- Implement token standards (Token-2022) with metadata, transfer hooks, and retirement logic.
- Build and maintain backend modules that integrate with external registries (MAE Vietnam, Verra, Gold Standard).
- Ensure compliance by integrating KYC/AML, oracles, and Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) where required.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, BA, and designers to deliver end-to-end product features.
- Conduct rigorous testing (unit, integration, security) and participate in smart contract audits.
- Optimize for performance, scalability, and resilience against outages.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in backend or blockchain engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Rust and the Solana/Anchor framework.
- Hands-on experience with smart contract development, deployment, and testing on Solana.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL/MongoDB and integrating blockchain data with off-chain services.
- Knowledge of cryptography, ZKP (zk-SNARKs/halo2/circom), and blockchain security best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with API development (Node.js/TypeScript) is a plus.
- Understanding of financial systems, tokenization, or ESG/carbon markets is a strong advantage.
