Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Act as a strategic partner to the Accounting & Tax Manager, ensuring flawless execution of accounting, tax, and reporting processes.

Champion world-class accuracy in the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and financial statements, transforming data into actionable insights for commercial decisions.

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal advisory on accounting standards, tax regulations, and invoicing across the organization.

Own the preparation, automation, and continuous improvement of management reporting packs that drive clarity and leadership decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. General Accounting & Ledger Control:

Maintain and reconcile GL and sub-ledgers, guaranteeing data integrity, completeness, and readiness for audit.

Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing cycles, deploying structured playbooks and rigorously managing deadlines.

Oversee chart-of-accounts, posting rules, and financial dimensions to ensure clean reporting and supporting master data.

Provide hands-on accounting support during periods of staff shortage or when urgent financial matters require immediate attention.

2. Sub-ledger Operations:

AR/AP: Manage contract reviews, credit terms, invoice issuance, account reconciliations, and ensure receivable/payable accuracy.

Treasury: Automate bank and cash reconciliations, support payment runs, and optimize cash flow forecasting.

Inventory & Assets: Monitor stock movements, costing analyses, and fixed asset registers; participate in stock takes and variance investigations

3. Tax & Invoicing:

Prepare and file all statutory returns and taxes (VAT, CIT, PIT, SCT, FCT, business license fee) on time and with zero error tolerance.

Design tax compliance checklists and technical decision logs for complex trade terms, promotions, and cross-border transactions.

Liaise with tax authorities and auditors, maintaining a robust evidence trail and proactive compliance posture.

4. Reporting & Analytics:

Build a single source of truth for management reporting, deploying reconciliation bridges between GL and P&L/BS packs.

Deliver structured reporting templates, automated with advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot), and scalable SQL for data extraction.

Develop and implement variance analysis frameworks, clearly distinguishing operational impacts and accounting entries.

Own the creation, maintenance, and documentation of finance data dictionaries, SOPs, and reporting schedules.

5. Process, Controls & System Enhancement

Lead continuous process improvement using LEAN/Kaizen principles; drive measurable gains in accuracy and efficiency.

Implement maker-checker controls for critical postings, filings, and payments; maintain control documentation and testing logs.

Collaborate with IT/BI teams to optimize data models for accounting realities and reporting needs (Power BI, SQL, data joins, DAX preferred).

6. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement

Provide clear, concise advisory to business users on contract structuring, tax, promotions, and payment terms.

Translate financial results into commercial recommendations for revenue/margin enhancement; analyze ROI of campaigns and compliance.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager and Group Finance Controller.

PERSONAL SPECS

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance.

Chief Accountant certification is mandatory.

Minimum 03 years of experience in accounting, finance, and tax, preferably in a multinational company.

Strong knowledge of Vietnamese tax regulations, VAS, and IFRS.

Advanced technical skills:

-Excel: expert (dynamic formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot, data validation, reconciliation ticks).

-SQL: proficient in data extraction, joining datasets, and basic performance optimization.

-Power BI: capable of building dashboards, applying DAX, and managing model security.

Experience in financial reporting, tax audits, and compliance matters.

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Experience with accounting software (SAP, Fast, Misa).

CPA or ACCA certification is a plus.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Proactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
