Great workplaces do more than accommodate work. They shape how people connect, how culture is experienced, and how businesses move forward.
At Huynchi, we design and build workplaces around a simple belief: space should work better for people and for the organizations they belong to.
A well-designed workplace can strengthen culture, express brand identity, support collaboration, improve daily operations, and create value long after the project is completed.
That is the kind of work we want to create.
We are looking for a Workplace Design Lead who can turn complex business needs, human insights, and project realities into clear and meaningful design solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will take the lead on challenging workplace projects while helping other designers think more deeply, work more confidently, and raise the quality of what we deliver together.
We are looking for someone with strong design judgment, curiosity, empathy, and the ability to move comfortably between big ideas and practical decisions.
What you will do
Lead important and challenging workplace projects
- Lead the design direction of key workplace projects from early discovery through completion.
- Understand the client's business, people, culture, brand, operations, and ambitions before defining the design response.
- Turn complex requirements into clear workplace concepts, spatial strategies, design narratives, and client presentations.
- Guide the project through design development, technical coordination, and construction.
- Protect the design intent while responding intelligently to budget, schedule, buildability, and changing project conditions.
Connect design with people and business
- Create workplaces that support employee experience, collaboration, wellbeing, productivity, and organizational culture.
- Help clients understand how workplace decisions can influence the way their people work and experience the company.
- Balance identity and expression with functionality, flexibility, operational performance, and long-term value.
- Think beyond individual rooms or visual elements to consider the complete workplace experience.
Lead by doing and by supporting others
- Work directly on the projects that require the highest level of design thinking and judgment.
- Support designers in developing concepts, solving problems, and making better design decisions.
- Review work constructively and help maintain a consistent standard of quality across the team.
- Share knowledge, methods, references, and lessons learned from projects.
- Create an environment where designers can ask questions, test ideas, and develop their own point of view.
- Help the team grow without taking ownership away from individual designers.
Collaborate across Design & Build
- Work closely with Business Development, Project Management, Technical Design, QS, Procurement, MEPF, and Site Teams.
- Engage clients and stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and respect.
- Help multidisciplinary teams make informed decisions when design, cost, technical requirements, and delivery conditions intersect.
- Ensure that design thinking remains connected to the realities of how the project will be built and experienced.
Improve how we design
- Contribute to the development of Huynchi's workplace design standards, processes, and knowledge.
- Explore better ways to research, develop, communicate, coordinate, and deliver design.
- Introduce useful tools and working methods that improve both creative quality and project efficiency.
- Help integrate AI and emerging technologies into practical design workflows.
What we are looking for
You may be a strong fit for this role if you have:
- A degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in workplace or commercial interior design.
- A portfolio that demonstrates clear thinking, strong judgment, and the ability to solve real project challenges.
- Experience leading design projects from concept through delivery.
- Experience supporting, reviewing, or mentoring other designers.
- A good understanding of how workplace design connects with people, culture, brand, operations, and business needs.
- The ability to present ideas clearly and guide clients through design decisions.
- Confidence working with multidisciplinary teams in a Design & Build environment.
- The ability to use professional design software and digital tools to support concept development, visualization, documentation, and coordination.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, together with the judgment to apply them meaningfully.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and the willingness to stay involved until the design is successfully delivered.
We value designers who can listen carefully, ask better questions, and find clarity within complicated briefs.
We are not looking for one fixed design style. We are looking for someone who can understand what is distinctive about each client and translate that understanding into a workplace that feels relevant, coherent, and genuinely theirs.
Creativity, human insight, and AI-enabled workflows
At Huynchi, we believe the future of design belongs to professionals who can combine creativity, human understanding, technical judgment, and new technology.
AI can help designers explore more possibilities, work through information faster, communicate ideas more clearly, and reduce repetitive tasks. But good design still depends on curiosity, empathy, context, judgment, and responsibility.
We value people who see AI as a creative and working partner. Someone who is willing to experiment, learn, question the output, and use the right tools to improve the quality of both the process and the final result.
The goal is not to use technology for its own sake. The goal is to create better outcomes for clients, users, projects, and the design team.
