Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our daily warehouse operations. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a proven track record of improving processes and driving team performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of warehouse associates, including pickers, packers, and forklift operators.
- Schedule and assign daily workloads to ensure efficient workflow and on-time order fulfillment.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and manage corrective actions when necessary.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.
Operations & Process Management
- Oversee all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
- Ensure all orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped according to schedule.
- Monitor and improve warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, and lines picked per hour.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse tasks.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Procurement, Transportation) to ensure seamless operations.
Inventory Control & Accuracy
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle counting and participation in annual physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper storage of goods to maximize space utilization and preserve product integrity.
- Manage the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse (e.g., 5S methodology).
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety by enforcing all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections; ensure all safety equipment is functional and accessible.
- Lead safety training sessions and ensure all team members are properly trained on equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Manage warehouse security and loss prevention efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance for warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyors, pallet racks).
- Report any facility maintenance issues to the appropriate manager.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a warehouse supervision or team lead role.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, shipping, and receiving.
- Forklift certification and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Preferred:
- Experience in Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or 5S methodologies.
- Experience with a specific WMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, Fishbowl).
