Job Purpose
To strategically lead and manage all operational functions (i.e. Payment, Trade, Loans, Accounts, Financial Markets and Admin) within DBS Vietnam, ensuring seamless and efficient process, leading change in digital transformation and ensuring a robust operational risk management to support branch business strategic plan and priorities.
Job Duties & responsibilities
- Supervise and managing operations teams to ensure that all transactions are processed with high level of quality, accurately, timely and in compliance with group standards and local regulations.
- Supervise local Vietnam and Group projects/initiatives for operations to ensure participation and completion are timely as per the project design including discovery, feedback, requirements, testing, deployment, and post implementation to achieve the desired objectives.
- Implement, manage and monitor the operational risk & controls within the Branch to ensure compliance with sound business best practices and high standards in line with Head Office policies and regulatory framework.
- Formulate, implement and review Branch's operational process and procedures periodically to reflect up-to-date changes in line with Head Office policies and standards, in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Able to lead changes in digital transformation to support process improvement, automation and reduce manual efforts in operations
- Supervise and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting in terms of accuracy and timeliness. This is also applicable for internal reports.
- Supervise and ensure satisfactory results for operations from Internal Audit, External Audit, Regulatory inspection/assessment, Internal Risk Control Self-Assessment and any testing from compliance/quality assurance.
- Represent Vietnam Operations in Group Ops and with other Head Office units by communicating and collaborating well with other units, especially for matters related to operations.
- Provide support to business units to achieve branch goals and objectives including new business initiatives.
- Provide coaching, training and development for the Operations team.
- Other assignments by Vietnam Country Heads and Reporting Line Manager
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in banking of which a minimum of 5 years experience in operations.
- Good knowledge and understanding of local regulations in operational areas
- Good leadership and management experience in managing teams and staff
- Having technology experience is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Be able to communicate in both Vietnamese and English
