- INTRODUCTION
Talent development and building a robust succession plan across all business-critical roles is an ongoing strategic objective for Volcafe.
The Volcafe Trainee Program 2027 will create an internal talent pool, consisting of entry-level individuals from which future leaders and successors for key roles across the global organisation can be identified and developed.
The Volcafe Trainee Program 2027 with provide Volcafe leadership with the flexibility to tailor the development of employees according to business needs. It will also provide trainees with the opportunity and flexibility to drive their own career development aims with Volcafe.
- RECRUITMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TALENT
Aim
The Volcafe Trainee Program 2027 will aim to recruit talented graduates from within the local country/ regional markets and challenge them to grow into Volcafe future generation of leaders. It is not an internship program but a full-time job opportunity. Trainees will initially be retained on a 2-year fixed term contract.
The 2-year program will provide trainees with hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop key business skills and acumen. At the same time, it provides Volcafe with the opportunity to mould the attitudes and behaviours of trainees in line with core Coffee values.
Structure
The program provides a unique approach to learning that matches the development pace of the individual and the needs of the business. Overall, it is anticipated to be a four-year program designed to drive learning about the business and industry through the use of Core and Elective modules (rotations) and later, increased responsibility in a business function of the trainee's choosing.
In years 1 and 2, the trainees will participate in hands-on and practical modules. These modules are designed to provide each trainee with a firm grounding across all aspects of Volcafe functions and how the business fits together.
From year 3 onwards, trainees will move into full time business roles with more focused learning, responsibility and ownership with opportunities to lead on important and impactful projects.
Recruitment methodology
The Volcafe Trainee Program 2027 will be promoted within Viet Nam and may be also other locations. The job advert and person specification will be designed by the Trainer in partnership with Human Resources and local management.
Development
At the point a trainee's employment starts, a unique development plan will be designed with input from the trainee, Human Resources, local management and the Trainer. A strong sense of ownership will be fostered from day one so that individuals take responsibility, with support from the business, for their performance and development. A trainee's performance and progress will be assessed regularly.
Trainees also benefit from access to mentoring and coaching by industry leaders and professional development to facilitate the identification of their personal strengths and career interests.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Education: Fresh Graduate/ bachelor's degree on Industrial Management, Mechatronics, Agricultural Mechanics, Food/Chemistry technology, post-harvest technology or related fields
- English: At least IELTS 6.5 or any similar level certificates or very well communicate in English both spoken and written.
- Advanced level of Excels or other advanced tools of data control.
- Soft Skills: Clear and Concise communication (verbal and written), Teamwork and Collaboration, Relationship Building, Influence and Persuasion, Discipline and Self-Control, Adaptability and Flexibility, Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving, Time Management and Organization.

- JOB DESCRIPTION (PRODUCTION role, to be assigned after graduation from The Trainee Program):
- Plan, design and implement an efficient processing system for both Robusta & Arabica green beans coffee.
- Design an optimal processing flow, focused on weight and quality control & reducing any weight loss to a minimum.
- To build, together with the quality manager, knowledge of the specific client requirements, in order to avoid, in a pro-active way, any quality discussions further down the line.
- To develop, together with the Logistics manager, policies, procedures and processes for receiving product at the processing line, equipment utilization, weight management, and delivery of final product.
- Set and work towards achieving strategic and operational factory processing objectives.
- Control the efficient use of production plant facilities through planning of maintenance, improvements within the site.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available for full time training.
- Willing to travel as part of training requirement
