Vietnamese NLU / NLP Linguist

Location: Remote (Vietnam Preferred)

Employment Type: Contract / Full-time

Work Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)

We are looking for a Vietnamese NLU/NLP linguist to support the development and evaluation of advanced Natural Language Understanding (NLU) systems and language models.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Vietnamese along with experience working with NLP, conversational AI, or speech technologies. This role involves analyzing language patterns, evaluating AI model responses, improving intent recognition, and supporting data annotation workflows to enhance the accuracy and performance of AI systems.

• Analyze Vietnamese language data to support Natural Language Understanding (NLU) model development and evaluation
• Perform intent classification, sentence structure analysis, and linguistic quality assessments
• Annotate and review linguistic datasets used for training and evaluating AI models
• Conduct error analysis on language model outputs and provide insights for model improvement
• Evaluate and validate AI-generated responses for linguistic accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness
• Collaborate with data scientists, NLP engineers, and AI researchers to refine language models
• Contribute to speech recognition, conversational AI, and language model evaluation tasks
• Document linguistic patterns, edge cases, and recommendations to improve model performance

• Strong proficiency in Vietnamese
• Excellent understanding of Vietnamese grammar, syntax, and linguistic structures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Vietnamese

• Bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following fields:
• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Computational Linguistics
• Artificial Intelligence
• Linguistics or a related technical discipline

• Experience working with Natural Language Processing (NLP) or speech technologies
• Exposure to intent detection, language model evaluation, or sentence structure analysis
• Experience with data annotation, linguistic evaluation, or AI response assessment
• Experience analyzing large language datasets

• Working knowledge of Python
• Familiarity with data processing and linguistic data analysis
• Experience performing error analysis on AI/NLP models
• Understanding of machine learning or NLP workflows

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will be highly preferred:

• Speech Recognition (ASR)
• Conversational AI / Chatbot systems
• Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation
• Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF)
• AI response quality evaluation
• Experience working with AI training datasets or annotation platforms
