Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Re-sourcing Subcontractors for Existing Customers
- Source and develop subcontractors to support transportation demand for existing customers.
- Proactively source additional subcon resources during peak demand periods to ensure sufficient truck supply.
- Conduct re-sourcing activities to optimize pricing, service quality, and operational capability.
- Evaluate subcon performance, productivity, and SLA compliance.
- Maintain and update the subcontractor database to support operations.
2. Sourcing Subcontractors for New Business
- Coordinate with the Business Development/Sales team to prepare transportation resources for new projects and customers.
- Build and expand the subcontractor network based on area coverage, truck type, and customer requirements.
- Conduct market surveys and benchmark pricing and vendor capabilities.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with new subcontractors.
- Ensure truck capacity readiness before project go-live.
3. Coordinate Troubleshooting Activities with Operations
- Work closely with the Operations team to resolve issues related to subcontractors.
- Handle truck supply shortages that impact operational planning.
- Investigate and resolve price discrepancies between system rates, quotations, and actual pricing.
- Negotiate with subcontractors regarding price increases or operational changes.
- Monitor vendor performance and propose improvement plans to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and transportation costs.
Requirements
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or vendor management.
- Strong sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Good problem-solving and cross-functional coordination abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
