Job Description

The Vehicle Safety Attribute Manager will be managing the Attribute Safety for a defined scope of programs. He needs to represent central PIC for the safety attribute interests, from initial setting of specifications and targets, going through the validation plan and ending in the final confirmation of the target achievement

  • Technical leader, responsible to jointly work with ESPs and cross-functional teams to guarantee that the Safety development and validation activities will meet the expected performance, quality, timing and cost targets.
  • To lead the overall work plan for the attribute targets, integrating CAE activities, sled test for components, full vehicle testing and required EE activities.
  • To technically lead the DVP definition for safety validation activities in complete vehicle scale
  • To create the SOR for the testing supplier selection, to make sure that the selected supplier complies with the requirements for the validation activities.
  • To lead the regular reviews for the vehicle safety attribute, tracking the deviations of the work plan vs. the initial target and reporting accordingly to Chief Engineer and rest of Program Stakeholders.
  • To technically track the results of the validation activities (virtual or physical), identifying possible issues leading to a deviation on the expected performance. To trigger the root-cause analysis and lead the action definition coming from the rest of engineering stake holders (ESP or VF internal)
  • To support with the technical advice for the vehicle test preparation and requirements.
  • To support, in required case, the testing activities on site in the testing lab.
  • To update the VTS status with all validation results and to prepare all deviations detected, for reporting.
  • To weekly report to Program Attributes Manager, Vehicle Attributes Control Manager and program Chief Engineers informing Safety Attribute status and escalate critical hard points where higher leadership help and support would be required

Requirements

  • Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineer or equivalent work experience (15+years) in automotive OEMs or 1st tier suppliers
  • Solid knowledge in vehicle safety development and validation. (10+ years)
  • CAE background (BiW, Structural, Safety)
  • Experience with restraint system development & work together with restraint system suppliers
  • Experience with BEVs programs
  • Project Management founded skills, in complex timing / cost environments.
  • Good communication skills & synthesis capability in international environment
  • Root cause / problem solving skills
  • Availability to travel (testing support
