Scope of Role

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Engineer to join our team as a CVC Component Owner, focusing on the development, integration, and lifecycle management of Vehicle Control Units (VCU) and Central Vehicle Computers (CVC).

This role is a strong opportunity for an early-career engineer with a solid foundation in automotive electronics, embedded systems, and model-based development to grow into a key ownership position supporting VinFast's next-generation vehicle platforms.

As a Component Owner, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers, system architects, software teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders. You will contribute to defining requirements, validating functionality, reviewing design changes, and ensuring that CVC/VCU components meet performance, quality, and program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage CVC/VCU hardware, software, and calibration deliverables across vehicle programs, ensuring alignment with program milestones (EP, PTO, SOP).
  • Own the CVC/VCU component roadmap, including hardware revisions, software releases, feature content mapping, and calibration dependencies.
  • Coordinate and review ECU schematics, pin configuration, electrical interfaces, and component change requests.
  • Work with software teams to define feature requirements, check interface specifications (ICD/DBC), and validate software integration readiness.
  • Track and manage hardware, software, and calibration baselines, ensuring proper version control and documentation for each vehicle line.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews to evaluate the impact of hardware or software changes on performance, diagnostics, and safety.
  • Support issue investigation by analyzing logs, reviewing signal behavior, identifying root causes, and coordinating fixes with SW/HW/calibration teams.
  • Ensure the CVC/VCU meets performance, functional safety, diagnostics, and communication requirements through systematic testing (bench, HIL, vehicle).
  • Collaborate with suppliers (hardware & software) to track deliveries, open issues, and release notes, ensuring timely escalation and closure.
  • Prepare technical reports, release notes, and status updates for leadership and program teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Strong understanding of automotive electronics and basic knowledge of Vehicle Control Units (VCU) and Central Vehicle Computers (CVC).

Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

Knowledge of electronic components, sensors, and microcontrollers used in vehicle control systems.

Understanding of embedded systems and firmware

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of automotive electronics.

Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Internship or academic experience involving automotive ECUs, control systems, embedded software, or diagnostics.

Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design or system simulation.

Experience using tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS diagnostic tools, or log-analysis tools.

Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation, restbus simulation, or ECU integration benches.

Understanding of powertrain, body, thermal, or connected car functions in EVs or HEVs.

Exposure to software development processes (e.g., Agile, integration testing, release management).

Interest in emerging automotive technologies including EV architectures, ADAS systems, OTA updates, and connected vehicle platforms.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders.
