Job Purpose
The Next Gen Underwriter is responsible for embracing innovative underwriting practices and leveraging advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of underwriting operations. This role focuses on utilizing results of data analytics to improve automation, and customer-centric approaches to propose solutions and actions to streamline processes, improve risk assessment, and meet the evolving needs of the market, while also handling underwriting cases as a part of BAU.
Job Responsibilities
Underwriting technical and Innovative Underwriting Practices (Phương pháp thẩm định đổi mới)
- Underwrite new proposals/existing policies within approved authority
- Get involvement in projects to implement and apply cutting-edge underwriting techniques that leverage emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning) to improve accuracy and speed in decision-making.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, proposing and executing innovative solutions that enhance the underwriting process.
- Update underwriting guidelines based on the change of UW technical, rules and processes.
Data Analytics and Risk Assessment (Phân tích dữ liệu v đánh giá rủi ro)
- Work with other stakeholders to analyze underwriting data to identify trends, risk patterns, quality issues, and automation opportunities.
- Prepare regular and ad‑hoc underwriting reports, dashboards, and management insights (e.g. decision mix, STP rate, TAT, rework rate, key risk indicators).
- Support post‑implementation reviews through data‑driven assessment of underwriting initiatives and process changes
Underwriting Projects, Automation, New Capabilities, Process Optimization (Dự án, tự động hóa, xây dựng năng lực mới, tối ưu hóa quy trình)
- Participate in underwriting‑related projects covering underwriting rules, systems, digital/AI initiatives, automation/STP, regulatory changes, and campaigns.
- Act as a business SME, working with IT, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Medical, and Distribution throughout design, UAT, and implementation.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of underwriting automation and STP capabilities, including rule‑based logic, reflexive questions, automated decision paths, and exception handling.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies within the underwriting workflow, promoting continuous improvement through process automation and digital solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline the underwriting process and enhance customer experience.
